I love latin, I took it for three years in highschool. I really wish it was still a spoken language, it has such a rich and amazing history. My favorite phrase is a quote from Cicero "Assiduus usus uni rei deditus et ingenium et artem saepe vincit" which means "Constant practice devoted to ones subject often outdues both intelligence and skill"

I find latin fascinating, but we didn't have the option to take it in high-school. If it had been available, I would have loved to have studied it.
My grade 10 English teacher covered it briefly (even though it wasn't on the curriculum), but all I can remember is reading a Winnie the Pooh poem and noticing how he went "tump tump tump" when he fell down the stairs. I often wondered how accurate a translation that was.
I speak a bit of French and Spanish, so I can often figure out the gist of latin phrases I encounter.
