Not in my Interests List

My query might sound stupid but I am concerned. Please help me out. If you respond to a discussion and find that it is not in your interest list and then you are asked to add it to your interest list but you don't wish to add. So, do you get paid for that response? Or was it just a waste of time ? Is it necessary to add a interest to my list in order to earn from my post in that interest ? I was only interested in one discussion but I don't want to add it in my list lol Any answer?

It's up to you if you don't want add an interest you don't loss anything. If you add all interest it'll full my screen with all section you have. It makes your head spin to find where the interesting and which are not.

yes it sometimes happens that the discussion is interesting but not the complete interest. It mostly happens when the discussion has been started under interest category of Persons I admire, I might not really admire that person but the discussion is worth responding so I participate but I don't add it under the Persons I admire

So you are not interested in all the interests but you are interested in earning! You don't have to add them all. There are so many and Ioften respond on discussions and then decide not to add the interest as it is not one that I will be using regularly. You can skip it and your response will still earn for you. But if you add them you will then see the icons at the top of the page when a new discussion is posted. You don't have to respond but it just might be interesting and you might be interested

Lol ya I am interested in both earning and discussing as well. Well some newbies might also have the same query so this discussion will help them too! My purpose was to know the answer to this question and help the newbies too. But god knows if they will ever make a search for such discussion. But I have added a tag called "mylot" so they are bound to find this discussion in similar topics!
