Hello everybody. The African Cup of Nations stage group is about to finish. Today are the last two matches in group D. What do you think about the tournament so far? Who do you think that will win the tournament? And regarding today's matches... who do you think will qualify, Cameroon or Tunisia? Honestly until now I think that Egypt and Ivory Coast are big favourites. Also I think that Cameroon could have a big part to play in this tournament with the obvious condition to pass the group stage tonight.

I've always watched the African Cup of Nations with great pleasure, but it seems to me that this year the teams are playing even worse than usually. Some of the teams have big names but they give much less than they do when playing for their clubs.
That is why I think the best organized and disciplined team will win. So far, that team seems to be Egypt (just like they were in Ghana), but the quarter final against Cameroon will be crucial - Cameroon is starting to play some football too. My money's on Egypt.

I think that most of the people go with Egypt, and they have every reason to do it. One thing that I learned over the years about African Nations Cup is that African teams are very unpredictable, and many times a team that is not a big favourite can make a surprise. Exactly what happened last night when Ivory Coast lost against Algeria. And as I said before, even Ghana are very organized so they can be very dangerous until the end of the tournament.

It is indeed well known that the African teams are unpredictable, but I was really disappointed by the low quality of their performance...
It's a good thing the quarter finals are here - it shows that the teams have a more concrete objective. There's no other way to hope winning the Cup except winning every match and it shows in the determination the players exhibit.
I didn't see the match between Ghana and Angola, but I think the football played in all the other 3 quarter finals was of a fairly good quality, and I think the semifinals will be even better.
I can't wait to see the clash between Egypt and Algeria!

Actually I felt sorry for Ghana losing in the 86th minute against Egypt. I was hoping for penalties on this one. The Cup is over. Congratulations Egypt.
