Do you still celebrate your birthday?

I am 18 years old, student in the University of the Philippines Diliman. As much as I want to celebrate my birthday I just can't celebrate it though. I gained a year older last January 3, and I woke up that day at 1pm, done nothing. It's just a simple day that passed. I wish I was a girl then to celebrate my debut by then just to have FUN. Anyways, when I turn 21 I would definitely do a party. I rarely celebrate my birthday not because of the financial stuff but I just don't have the driving force to celebrate. Actually, financial reasons have a little factor here but it's just that I don't know. I know it's the day of my birth here in this very entropic universe. MY age perhaps have affected my thinking about it, since I become more mature I realize the effort and time I must put in to have a nice party or whatsoever. So, what I did was I ordered food thyat day of my birth since myb family was expecting something from me. That's it, how about you? DO you still find reasons to celebrate your birthday? DO you still celebrate your birthday?

when my age is no longer in the calendar, i stop celebrating my bday. i just go to church to thank god and thats it. though if i have a big reason to celebrate on my bday then maybe but if none then i just consider it as an ordinary day.

Oh yeah, I forgot to go to church to thank God. You know what starting this college life my faith has become less and less each day. I think the knowledge I gain about everything has turned this down. Oh, that's sad but when I reach that age I think I will have children already. Then, I'll celebrate my birthdays with them. That's how I see my future. Hope that applies to you too.^^

for me, i just make it simpler, i go to church and thank God for giving me another year of my life. eat together with my family and that's it. there is no extravagant spending because of the crisis, what matters to me is i have a new life and another year given by God and of course a good health.

My family still celebrates birthdays for all of our family. We always get together for a nice dinner then bring gifts for the birthday recipient no matter how young or old they are. It is a way of saying "You're special." and "I'm glad you are here." I have heard of people who send flowers to their mom on their birthday as thanks for having given birth and raised them. I think that is a really nice gesture. And, above all, thank God for the day and allowing you to be here.

Hi,switcher,I haven't celebrate my birthday for many years.I don't think my birthday is a big day for me,in my eyes my birthday is mother's thanksgiving day.My mother suffered a lot in my birthday. And I always give a call to my mom when I my birthday is coming,if I forget my father would remind me to do so.Have a nice day.

A neatly described story. I never celebrate my birthday and according to me its one more a day in our life time and the real day to celebrate is the day when we do something useful. I am 23 now and I have really lost interest in celebrating my birthdays. All I would do is to nod my head when someone wishes me and that is the trend which I am following for long. I at any day never found a reason to celebrate my birthday

I still celebrate my birthday, but in my very own way. I don't trow any party or anything, but spend a nice time with my boyfriend and do something special the two of us, or enjoy some good food.

Celebration for me doesnt mean a big party. Having a good time with family and eating together on my birthday is already a celebration for me. Yes I always celebrate my birthday, my mom would cook something for me then I'll just buy a cake or an ice cream. My dad will be 70 on sunday and we will celebrate it.

Yes i celebrate it for every year, however i started celebrating my birthday from my college day onwards. Before that i was not celebrating it, as i was at that time in village. I do not know about birth day celebrations during my school time. During my birthday i used to go to temple, praying and getting blessing from god and parents. After marriage, I started celebrating with cakes and candles. It is nice experience while celebrating and being celebrating it with family and friends. Still i am celebrating birthday for every year

Yes, I do. I'll celebrate my 24th birthday in March (though I still don't think I'm mature enough to be 24). I still get excited about these things. I dunno. Maybe it's the feeling that at least for one day, it's more about you than anyone else. See? I'm still a kid. :)

I usually do something small every year, like go out for dinner. But every other year I do something bigger, like a party or something ontop of dinner. It's not bad. I didn't do anything for my 19th (last March).. I went out for dinner and that was about it.. Oh I went to the bars downtown here but that was barely a "party" since I fractured my wrist. lol I always have reasons to celebrate my birthday. It's nice to hang out with my friends since I don't do it very often. :)

when we get older some people doesnt celebrate birthday at all maybe for a certain reasons like dont have the time, busy with other stuff, or maybe they just choose not too so that the money spent be used in more important things. me i choose not to celebrate it after i gave birth coz i rather celebrate my son's b-day than mine. just to save a little money i guess..LOL..also dont want to remember that i gain another year of life and hahahha.i guess age is just a number. usually i just go to church light and candle and thank GOD that i'm given another year in my life.

I still celebrate my birthday although it's not the usual party. I just go to the church to thank God for everything he has given me and my loved ones. This year, I think there won't be a dine out for my birthday since I want the money for the dine out to be saved for my mother's chemo.

I don't really celebrate my birthday. It's my mom who always celebrate my birthday for me. Sometimes i forget that my birthday is coming. I don't want to keep thinking about it because actually i kind of feel lonely during my birthday. i don't know why. perhaps, because I'm gonna miss it after... But I'm happy that the people in my birthday party are having fun. i don't recall having fun during my birth day.

Yes. I do celebrate my birthday every year. But the celebration is not always so grand. After I was 18 years old, I left home and began my life alone in a university. I just bought some tasty food which I did not often buy for myslef on my birthday. After I started to work, I was still away from home. For some years, my workmates had big party for my birthday. We ate cake, danced and sang, all having great fun.
