what do you do when you feel sad??

well i dont know actually what to do to feel better if you are sad,i just sit quietly in my room....thats it i just can do any work when i sm down and i start screaming whene er someone distuebs me,no matter who that person is i start screaming... can you tell me what to do when i am sad to feel better?/what do you do when you get sad for some reason??

I will go in my room and cry until I feel better just like you but I will not scream.

crying is NOT a sign of weakness. cry crying you allowed yourself to experience the presence of emotions (anger, sadness, loneliness, sadness, hurt, etc., etc.,), but definitely NOT a sign of weakness. it is however a sign of STRENGTH, because you acknowledge that you are human after all (with the presence of these emotions). c: GodSpeed!

i do go in my room and sit quietly but i dont cry.....u shudnt cry you know,that will make you more weaker mentally...you surely would not want to be weak would you??just sit quietly but dont cry

if i am really sad, i would cry long enough for me to feel light or a little okay... and then i would let my day be busy, like watching very funny dvd's at home and surf the net a lot or play any games on the internet and on playstation, so that i can divert my attention of being lonely to being happy again... know what, at times, i also scream out loud in one person if im in a heavy thinking that makes me sad,and when we are sad i think we tend to say things we don't really mean and sometimes hurt that person just to prove to them that we are not in the mood for us to be disturbed...and the moment i do that, i really can't say sorry immediately to that person even if i already realized i am wrong, it's really one of my weakness and i really want to avoid that also..but i am still thankful that i am learning in this life that we are living...

I try to be NOT sad. ^_^ I like to think that life is too short to be sad most of the time, so I try not to be. And the only way I can 'un-sad' myself is to make someone else happy, so I try to cheer up someone who's down like I am. That way, we both end up not sad anymore.^^

but if you become sad then???how do you stop yourself from geetting sad??its not a thing which you can controll?/then what will you do then??when you find yourself to be the only person sad and all are enjoying??then?/

You're right about that - getting sad is not a thing I can control. But I can control if I'd continue to be sad or not, and that's what I focus on. :D Besides, it's easy to see a pattern if you feel you're getting sad. Sometimes, even a sad music can make you sad, and when you find yourself going down that path, listen to an upbeat tune. If you're watching news that depresses you, either snag a moment to pray for those people or do something else constructive. Being sad, I reckon, is a bit like worrying - it's not constructive and it's not good for the health sometimes. I should know. I used to be so depressed sometimes that I won't come out of my room for days on end.

well you have a pretty emotional kind of avtar......the avtar tells a lot about your depression you know....well yes,a sad song do make me feel even more worse,sometimes when i switch on the radio when i am sad and a sad song plays i really feel like crying...

Dear Friend, When i feel sad, i will try to make myself cry, because crying the best way to get rid of sadness. And crying once in a while is very good for your health. But if i am not sad enough, i will go play basketball to get sweat, after sweating like a pig, i feel so good! You can try!Thanks for reading and responding my discussions! Have a nice day!

For me i usually never speak much as compared to my normal days of so. I do get angry but never stubble upon others or person nearer to me. I also never felt good but nowadays even thou i am sad i always try to remain happy , so in context to me the person who is close to me feels good and whats upon me may not be felt by the other person. The other way is by sorting out the problem that is responsible of me being sad and removing it will lead or make you happy.

Brother sorry could not respond to you as i was not in town of so. I see the problem you face so and the main reason lies in you only as such that nothing can happen until you give it your hundred percent of so if i can do why cant you . Never say no everything is possible of so just freshen your mind with positive vibes i also pray to god to give you power to do so.

well listening to you it feels that you can handle things with calm but i cant actually do that......i get fustrated and for that time being my mind stops working...thats why i end up hurting others...

I go to study or listen music. These things really make me feel nice. I love it. When I doon't have disposition to study I read a book. Good books can distract you and leave you to a different world. And good musics too. For me it's the best way do forget the problems and stay good.

This is also a good thing that you do so. main motive is to remain positive and more over try to become happy. By reading books, listening music or by watching movies you try to influence yourself or towards other side. This is also a good way by which you can remain aloof of becoming sad but i would suggest you to find the reason behind your becoming sad or the problem residing around it.

sometimes there is a reason but sometimes i find no reason at all.......its just that i feel sad and i dont know the reason why....that when it gets more fustrating you know

I do my best not to be sad anymore. I spend some time crying, I calm down, and then I find something to cheer me up. I listen to happy music or music that makes me happy or makes me feel like I can overcome anything. I read a book that makes me happy. I watch videos that make me happy. In short I just try very hard to cheer myself up.

When I'm sad I like to be alone.I get to the point where I cry.Sometimes I listen to music.I meditate,that sort of helps.I think I'm depressed and this winter time weather doesn't help,because they say you need at least 15 minutes of sun light to help your mood.It's cloudy most of the time.I don't know how to get sunshine.

hello. i put my earplugs and play my favorite song. then i sing my heart out and at the top of my lungs. make sure you're alone or ask permission from the people around you. lock up yourself in your room so no one will disturb you. if you've got a chocolate bar in the fridge, it's the high time you should grab and munch it. if you wanna hang out, invite a good friend to your favorite ice cream treat. go on a food trip and enjoy. but there's one last thing that will save your money and energy- sleep. if any of the above might be of help, i'll be glad if you let me know. cheer up!

Watch a dvd (comedy) together with your family or friends. Or get out of your house and go to mall play arcade/ video games with your friends. There so many things that can make you feel better when you are down.

but the fact is that when i feel down i dont like talking to anybody....i might even end up misbehaving with my friend and that may end up bittering the relatonship which i dont want.......

i don't talk to anybody whenever i feel sad.i just sit in front of the pc, chat with my friends ,and listen to music.that's what i do to make myself feel better.

does that work actually???i mean plzaying video games will keep yor mind away for sometime from yor sadness and you will only concentrate on the game at that moment....may be i can try it out.i hope it works

Every time I feel sad, I just stay inside my room doing nothing... I just want to feel the essence of being alone. I tried to relax, think of nothing, close my eyes and feel my heartbeat. with this, I will start talking to HIM.. asking, what's wrong with me? Asking for forgiveness, thanking for all the blessings, then start discussing something to HIM. Just like talking to my close friend, HE's my confidant to whatever problems I encountered. If I need to cry, I really do, it helps a lot. Somehow, somewhere with my conversation with HIM, He's answering back to all question I asked HIM. All I need to do is to listen very carefully.... and I used my heart to listen to all HE's messages. After this, I really feel relax and rejuvenate, and everything's follows.

ringing up friends?/well that will not suite me because i dont really like talking to anybody when i am sad....i just cant share my sadness you know and thats what makes me more sad

Sometimes I'll read a book , sometimes just stay longer in bed. I also try to rmrmber what good things are in my life because other people have it much worse. If I let it take over then I'd would just sink further to depression so I just try to be more relaxed.

well thats a good way i guess.......just think about good things that happened......just stay in bed and think about those moments and you will may be for just a short while but will definately forget about those bad things

I practice zazen (Zen meditation), which is a form of mindfulness and just allow myself to go through the sad feelings. - Derek

i dont know much about zen meditation but i do feel that meditating is really a good idea.it brings back calmness of mind much faster than any othe thing.also it makes you feel happier

i dont like going out at all....once when i was sad one of my friends visited ny house but i didnt talk to him properly.he understood that something was wrong and left.....i felt very bad afterwards

Crying for me is a form of prayer. I cry a lot. I am never ashamed of my tears. And though crying makes me weak and keeps me strong. Cry, there is nothing from from doing it.

I can do a lot of things, like watching film, listening music, surfing music, chatting with friends, walking for a while by myself. Mostly I will do nothing, even though I know I am upset. I just let it happening. Eventually I will get through it. It's nature to be upset, so I don't care. It's life. Why do we have to be happy all the time?

well you have a strong point.its nature and we dont always have to be hapy but being sad is not a good feeling and thats whhy nobody wants to be sad.....its very tough to go through that kind of situation you know....

Firstly I'll try my best to deal withe the case which caused my sadness.If I can deal with it successfully, my sadness will go away.If I can not deal with it, I'll stay alone in my room and listen some music.Sometimes crying is a good way to release my sadness.Actually months before I broke up for some reasons, then I came to Mylot and ask for help.Many friends in mylot gave me much care and courage.It really worked well,I am better now. So it is very important to share you sadness with your friends,maybe they the best medicine to heal the broken heart.
