A jump rope, skipping rope, or skip rope is the primary tool used in the game of skipping played by children and many young adults, where one or more participants jump over a rope swung so that it passes under their feet and over their heads. Do you know that skipping rope is a good exercise?
I'm too lazy to excercise though I'm determine to lose weight. I think using skipping rope is a good exercise to shed off some pounds. I have been using it for four days now. My legs are in pain because of muscle pain. I see to it that I can spend atleast 15-20 minutes a day skipping rope.

I would love to skip rope as an exercise. Once used to it, it would be fabulous exercise. I knew a lady in her 70's who attributed her excellent health to her daily regimen of skipping. I know she regularly counted to over a hundred skips at a session.
My problem is that I don't like the ropes they have today.
They used to be made of rubber when I was a child.
Now they are made of light rope or plastic, which don't work very well. Too light.
They are also ususally too short for an adult. I am going to try to find a good one at a sporting goods store.

Hi there. Try to look at sports section, I bought mine there. It's color pink made of good quality plastic. I will also try hola-hoop.

Hi, maria1081. No, I have never done this an an exercise regimen before. Now, that you mentioned it, I may try this one day. I believe that it does aids in weight loss. I am sorry that your legs are sore from the muscle pain. I hope that you will feel better.

I tried it, but my feet and legs won't handle it. If I'd been doing it all my life, it might be fine, but it's too strenuous to start now for me. Maybe you should try just 10 minutes a day or every other day until you get used to it?
I do think it would be a good way to lose weight, as well as get in shape otherwise.

I have been doing exercises from my college days. But I have never tried skipping. It is because am tall, and the roof is not so high. And I usually dont like to do exercise outdoor, because of shyness.
But, I have tried jumping without the ropes!
