It is known that simultaneous development of two fetuses in the womb or uterus is Twin pregnancy.
It is really very interesting to see a mother delivering two babies.
But do you know what are the problems faced both by the mother and the fetuses during the time of development in the womb and during delivery ?

I know a lady that had difficulty getting pregnant. She had began fertility testing. Then she had a successful pregnancy test. She rang the consultant and told her the good news. The lady mentioned that she was having terrible sickness much of the time. The consultant asked to come to her scan. At the scan she found out she was having twins. She had a girl and a boy. I think she had them by c-section. Twin deliveries can be risky or complicated. Sometimes a lady can have a natural birth for twins if they are in a suitable position.

Just to add a twin pregnancy is more demanding on a lady's pregnancy than a single baby. The twins are usually small due to sharing the womb space. They are likely to be born prematurely as they run out of space in the womb. I know a lady that had her twins born when she was on holiday at Christmas time. She had to have her twins in special baby care units in different hospitals. She had her two year old daughter to look after when she was rushing from one hospital to the other hospital.

well, right of the bat here are a few:
- if one or both of the baby's positions is in the breech or transverse position then the mother will have to undergo a C-section to deliver
- if the twins share one placenta or one food supply, there's a big chance that one of them will develop poorly and will have less chance of surviving
I'm sure there are more but that's what I can recall right now.
