So, I started keeping a journal in my book of files that I keep in my purse that holds my wallet, schedule, address book and such. I dedicated one whole section to ideas for discussions that I come up with at random times and do not want to forget.:D
Any time something pops in my head, I jot it down and return to myLot to share with all of you.
Do you do anything like this? Or is there a way of remembering discussion?
If not, what is one way that myLot has taken over some part of your life [if it has at all]
Thanks in advance for sharing.

myLot hasn't taken over any part of my life but I do enjoy having my morning coffee with all of you. I don't have a job so I work on the computer, writing articles and taking surveys, etc. to bring a little money in. It's nice to start the day with all you people and as soon as the coffee is gone I get dressed and start to work!
I usually think of topics while I'm driving or sitting outside smoking. By the time I get inside or out of the car, I've forgotten whatever it is! Not because I'm forgetful but because my brain is going 100 MPH 24/7, it's even hard for me to sleep most of the time.

That was exactly my problem. I had the WHOLE post written in my head, when I sat back down- BLANK. It was crazy and got me mad when I would loose such a good idea, so I started jotting down notes {I am a list person to begin with so this is of course a no brainer}

hi chelgrll69 I always thought I would keep a notebook of
discussion ideas, but have yet to do so. I often get an idea
from reading a discussion. It will send my mind off into another
area which mostly has little to do with the discussion I read, just triggered it. When I found I could make enough to pay my internet bill I really got taken over by mylot. I enjoy discussing with all of my friends here, I learn so much and share and care , its just really a lot of fun. so I am also officialli addicted to dear mylot.

That makes two of us! :)
I only wish I could make enough to pay my internet bill... Maybe it is a goal I should strive for. [one less bill to pay in this economy]

That does happen a lot too :D
I am a post-it person. [a lot of the times it is scribally-crap and I don't even have any idea what I am trying to tell myself]
"ITS LIKE IM TRYING TO SAY SOMETHING TO ME, I JUST KNOW IT!" :D :D :D

I wouldn't say I am addicted ot mylot, but i sure do like coming in here and posting everyday, as I wouldn't want top be anywhere else. I haven't let mylot control my life, as I have other things that are much more important, than mylot. I do have errands to run, laundry to do, and such things like that, and soemtiems I find myself doing mylot instead of doing my housework. I guess that happens with all of us, from time to time. I come in here almost everyday, when I have nothing else to do, Mylot is such a nice community of people all willing to share our views with each other, and that is a good thing. I will continue to wek here for as long as I can and I hope for years to come. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Dont get me wrong, Im not a myLot stalker who sits on here all day waiting for someone to respond to discussions, but it has become a part of my thinking. Anything I see, I wonder how I can turn it into a discussion. I still shop, go out to eat, hang out with friends/family, work, cook, clean. I mainly get on here early afternoon when the house is quiet. :)

If I'm near a computer and I have an idea, but no time to post it, I e-mail myself. Otherwise I jot down a few key words on a piece of paper...

I have done that every now and then, if I come up with something interesting and I am away from my computer then I will definitely jot it down. In a way though, I must agree that mylot takes over part of my day. When this is the first place I come to when I wake up. So you guys are basically the first people that I talk to besides my husband. actually I just woke up not to long ago

I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm addicted... I'm self employed and tied to a pc all day so I visit mylot when I need a quick break to see what topices interest me and to see what comments have come in.
And I just started yesterday keeping a list of ideas for mylot discussions. I love lists and use them for so many things to help keep me organized. Now list making might qualify as my addiction!!
I love jotting down things to do and then checking them off when done. Every day there are so many things that need to be done that this helps me stay focused and give me some sense that I am staying on top of things. It all started when I forgot about the cupcake sale and I had 2 hours to make over 45 cupcakes..How much stress was that...too much so list making came to be a daily thing!
And I have a planner like you that keeps my schedule and such all in one place. And as far as addictions go, we could do alot worse! Be Well!!

If this fact makes you say that you are officially addicted to mylot, then I guess I fall into the same category. I keep a piece of scratch paper with me all the time so that I can jot down the ideas for discussions that I come up with. I think that is the only way to make sure that I have the best quality discussions that I am able to personally create. I will also sometimes think about the way that I am going to answer different discussions when I am away from the computer.

I am not really good at starting up discussions. I am more of a Responder to discussions. But the discussion does need to interest me so I can reply to it. Its good that you are righting down your ideas. I forget stuff too. I try to be on Mylot everyday when I have spare time.

I too try to think of discussions while doing my everyday stuff. But I don't keep a journal with me, so usually I just forget. Like today, I just left my van at the mechanics and was walking home. I remembered thinking of a discussion. But for the life of me, I couldn't remember what it was now that I'm in front of the computer. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Wow... you are a true mylot addict. No, I don't do that. But I have a book that I use when I am finding blog post ideas for my blog. :P

Well I do have some ideas that pops out of my head randomly usually during a boring class or stuff like that, but those ideas are not solely to myLot. I even think of what kind of program should I write next, and any photoshopping techniques and stuff and even video montages and remixing audios and of course sometimes myLot. (Okay don't blame me for putting a lot of computer stuff it's not my fault to be an IT student LOL). But actually I never got a chance to jot them down an I eventually forget some of them. You know what? After reading this discussion I certainly will start jotting them down cause I have read that day dreams have produced a lot of great things. :D

When I was starting here in Mylot, i also got addicted to this site. However, now that I am quite busy, my time spent in Mylot is getting smaller. If beofre I could spend two hours here, now it's just an hour. After I make a few posts, I sign off. Anyway, Mylot is a good site to be addicted to.
Happy Mylotting.

I think that's a good idea; to jot down things that you want to discuss about and stuff like that. mylot is addictive, isn't it? Sometimes I feel like I want to start a discussion on certain things that I've come across as well, but I've been putting that off pretty much. I have been commenting and answering to others, it's much fun for me right now.

LOL, welcome to the mylot addicts club. Yup, it's official. I do sometimes jot down notes like that, as well...about many things, and about mylot, too.

I am not yet really addicted but I love to start my mornings or even end my day just browsing thru myLot and responding to a few things I consider interesting to me. But I have to say there was one time that I had an idea and I had to write it down because I did not want to forget about it. It actually works because during the day you get to experience things when you are not in front of the computer thus it is best to jot it down so that once you get home you are able to share that query you have with you the whole day or that experience that made you either happy or sad.

I wouldn't say I am addicted to it yet. I do answer responses at least once a day. I used to read more, now I am on My Lot more. I have never started a discussion yet. Your idea of a notebook is very good. I use lists for everything, and if I got a good idea for a discussion I could write it down. If I don't write it down I forget it!

I don't write ideas down but they do keep me awake at night until my cat settles down to sleep on my pillow, then I can settle! By the way, I have often wondered why our bags are known as purses in the US. So what are your purses called (you know, that thing that keeps all your money in). I'm intrigued!
