Do you ever consider cellphone is one of our daily lives necessity? I am not saying without a cellphone is matter of life or death. With it, we have many convenience. Without it, we can still live our lives normally. Take my friend's brother for instance, he never has a cellphone himself, because he doesn't go out a lot, or have a colorful social life. That way, he could save some monthly fee. For me, I couldn't live without it. I can use it for emergency; and I have many people calling me for important matters. Moreover, I don't really rely on my landline anymore, so I get rid of it instead. What is your opinion?

For me having a cellphone with me all the time ensures me that if in case something happens to me along the way to where I am going, I am able to tell the person what is going on. Also, if I need to relay a message to someone right away, having a cellphone is very convenient. So one way or another I can say it is a necessity for my everyday travel to work for emergency purposes or just to let others know where I am at currently.

The same for me, I need a cellphone to let my parents know where I am. And I have to stay late at someone else house, I could call them instantly, and let them know where I am.

I think that it is essential for someone to have a phone because if they do not how will they accomplish some mere tasks.Say your car stops you need to call someone to come help you other wise you might be stuck there for a while and that's not fun.Cellphones help to plan stuff out and it helps to keep us organized and on the go.I don't have a cellphone yet,but that is because I can't really afford to pay for it every month since my parents will not pay for it so I have to start working to pay for one.

The cellphone has definitely become a staple of daily lives. I can't believe how popular it is considering that just in the year 2000 a lot of people still did not have cell phones. Now it's as if we can't live without one. They are small, convenient and excellent in emergencies. I never thought I would see the day we would be able to carry our telephones in our pockets which is what the cell phone is. Plus it offers so many options. The cell phone can be used to access e-mails, send texts, as an alarm, a calculator etc that it is amazing. Some people have become addicted to their cellphones and feel as if they've lost a third arm when it doesn't work etc. I think I read that the cellphone was considered one of the most important inventions of the 20/21st centuries.

Hello Kingparker, I used to think that owning a cell was frivolous but not anymore. My mom bought me one a few xmas back and I forgot I had it in my purse when I went shopping at the mall one evening. Low and behold, when I got out of the mall, my car wouldnt start. So I thought of going back to the mall to call my husband but it was 9PM and the mall had closed. No payphone anywhere in the parking lot. It was in the middle of winter and it was frigid that day. As I was fumbling in my purse for my smokes, I found my cell. WOW, I didnt even know how to use it haha. I managed and it sure saved me as I would have been frozen stiff by the time my husband would have wondered where I was. So yes, I think its a necessity now, especially if you live in a country where you have winters. Fingers freeze rather fast. Ive also cancelled my home phone. Only cells now.

I think that cellphone is usefull for our everyday live, because if we don't have a cellphone at all we can miss all conection , informatio from our friend, office, relatives , news etc. So, i think the cellphone must be used properly not just for fun but for communication is more essential

I think cellphones are becoming part of our daily lives now. it is becoming a neccesity more than a luxury. Cellphones are our means to get in touch with our loved ones and friends. It is very important to have our cellphones with us whereever we go. have a wonderful day.

for example: you are working in haiti when all of the sudden, the establishment you are working into collapsed due to that earthquake. you are conscious and safe inside but the rescuers cant find you. you have a relative where you live in the same house and all you can do is to phone them and tell exactly where your are so those guys can dig you asap coz you can only stay there for say 3 days. im sure having a cellphone would be a big help. can you just imagine yourself trapped inside without having one?. its basically a necessity but one should learn on how and when to use it properly.

I don't find a cellphone as something basic in my daily life. I admit that I use the cellphone as an alarm clock, but I could buy an alarm clock instead. I also use it as a photo camera, but I could use a normal photo camera instead. Apart from that, I don't call much, so I don't need to take it with me all the time.

Present situation is such that life is nothing without a cellphone . Mobile phone is not only a mode for communication, it has become the mode of entertainment for almost every people. One can listen to good quality music, video songs , full movie and also live sports and games. Mobile internets have been providing so nice facility that changed the life of many people. I can download and watch any movie instantly by using mobile internet and that to within 30 minutes. I can watch live cricket matches in mobile phone. Uptodate news telecast can also be viewed in mobile phones. Videocall is also a very nice feature. You can watch the video of the person you are talking over phone. The 3.2 megapixel camera in my phone takes awesome photos of my friends and family members. So,for me my mobile phone acts as a phone, a fm radio, a camera, a video recorder, a portable dvd player, an ipod,an alarm clock and a nice internet device. I really love my nokia 5800 xpressmusic phone. So, nowadays mobile phone is a very essential device.

Hi, kingparker. I do think that having a cell phone is very much needed. If something was to ever happen where a person can't get to a phone. Then having a cell phone would be beneficial. When I am out and when I don't have any change to use a pay phone, having a cell phone is useful for me. I will just use my cell phone for emergency purposes too. That is a way for me to have a backup.

I think now a days, its a necessity. It makes one life more easier. just imagine when your daughter is not yet home and its late. Would you go to each of her friend's house to check on her? see? it would be easier if she has her cellphone and you can just call her up. Or you can call her friends to check on her.

I think a cell phone is a valuable tool. Pay phones are hard to come by now a days and the price to use them varies. The only way you can afford to have a conversation is to call collect using a tole free number as some kind of bridge. With cell phones you don't have to wory about any extra fees. You just have to worry about the minutes you may, or may not use. Cell phones also work just about anywhere and work simular to radios. So that's another bonus to having them. Personally I use my cell phone for everything. One phone bill for everythng I could possibly need.
