the old saying "be careful what you wish for" I see is really true. I was wishing several months ago that it would rain in Southern California in the wintertime. okay. it started pouring Monday afternoon, Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday afternoon, now Thursday Afternoon, and the weather forecasters say it will rain again Monday and Tuesday.Streets are flooded, no sun for days, will it ever stop? Has anyone ever really wished for something here and got more than they wished for? I mean come on we will have twenty inches of rain by the end of this week, how much do we need already? We have had one tornado in Huntington Beach, and wild surf, dangerous conditions so they advise people not to surf as if that will stop the surfers.

If you say "don't" they automatically do. I guess it is best just not to say anything.

hi I wonder if there were surfers down at Huntington beach when that tornado blew through there, probably would as the surfs really high and idiots will go out although they had asked people to stay off the beaches.waterspouts were all over the place too, and thunderstorms and hail totally bizarre.

Yes, I have wished for stuff, and then gotten too much, and also complained about things and ended up missing what I was griping about. I think it is best just to go with the flow, as it will change soon enough. I am glad you are safe and dry my friend, and I will pray for California right now, because the weather is really acting like their downfall.

hi garden today was not raining and the sun came out, tomorrow is still supposed to be dry but another storms headed in on Monday afternoon. I think its not as wild though, hope not any way as we have had it for awhile here. the mudslides were the worst for the people living in those areas. they had to leave then come back.one family lost their home completely, the mudslide just took it with the slide. sad.

That's what you get for wishing for it! LOL
I'm in CA too, but in the northern part. So I see rain every winter. And like there, it's been raining here (downpour at times) for days. We do get a break here and there (an hour here, a few hours there) and then it starts all over again. As it is, it is currently raining as I type this.
I don't mind the rain...most of the time. But this is getting ridiculous!

It has rained today where I live at. It rained this morning. I was not that surprised, because all this week, the weather was very warm. It was in the 70s here.. In December! I am glad for the rain. It was very warm this week and it is going to be this way, for the rest of the week too. I hope that it stops raining where you are at, so that the streets won't get so flooded. Sometimes, I can wish for something and never get my wish granted.

oh cream do I know that one, I have wished so hard for my son to get a good job, well any job really but no luck, has not happened, maybe a reason behind it all. It just had a cloudburst here, rain came down in sheets and sounded like a freight train going by. wow. odd this has been extra chilly for our state at this timne of year never above about fifty very strange.

So this mess is all your fault, eh Hatley??? The only blessing for me is that the rain here causes very little damage and the flooding goes away a lot quicker than it does for those of "down below". The only weather I ever pray for is sunshine and warmth and more sunshine and warmth

Oh, I wish that torrential rain would stop there. Floods can be really dangerous. As for me, I also don't like rain. So, if it rains that long, I would also be really sad. Yes, sometimes we really have to be careful what we wish for.

It is true that saying, I realised it myself a few months ago when I wished for something with a real passion and it came true, not at the time that I wished it but a few months later and it was a real shock to me. I have wished for something though a before that which also came true and that wish was about 11 years ago and that wish came true this week and I think in that case I got a little bit more than I wished for. We have had rain today, it rained non stop from late last night til late this afternoon, luckily we have had no flooding.

this was the most bizarre weather Ihave ever seen for our area, and now they say the beaches are piled up with debris from old rocking chairs to kids toys, to auto parts, to broken umbrellas of all things, and they are waiting to clean it as it is considered contamined with offal that has run into the ocean . so hazmat people will have to do the clean ups as its considered unsafe for people to handle.yuck.

Now that scares me because my husband has wished for one sizeable snowfall here pretty soon and then be done with it for the winter. Umm, for us a sizeable snowfall can go anywhere from an inch all the way up to a foot. I'm hoping that his wish will come true, but I'm definitely not thinking about a foot. I don't even think we would be able to leave our house if we were to have that kind of a snow. We live at the bottom of a hill that is never treated.

hi dorannmwin oh do I remember the snow storms, blizzards and below zero weather,i grew up on a farm in South Dakota, maybe'thats why I have migrated to california too much snow in my childhood. living at the bottom of a hill, that could be problematic. lol. I had seen as a kid snow drifts higher than my head,no more of that stuff for me now.

Hiya Hatley,
It´s raining, it´s pouring and the temperatures here are not soaring they are going, going down again. But I don´t mind all the Dams here are almost full to the top which is really good news here has not been like that for sometime.
Well I suppose we have to take what ever comes just hope it´s not too much of one and none of the other. Summers here are so long, way too hot so I quite welcome this weather in many ways.

After the loads of snow last winter, and the experience of digging tires through slush more than once, I wished that winter would be a little milder this time. And guess what? I think I got my wish. It has only snowed here for a couple of days, and has been relatively warm.
I think the snow that was suppose to arrive here in the Northwest, never did and has hang around Southern Cal, as rain.

hi talkeen welcome. yes we were so dry we had forgotten what real rainstorms were like but this one was really destructive with a tornado and waterspouts and mudslides in the burn areas. even some hailstones and electrical storms. weird weather.

Rain I don't mind (but then I don't live on a hill or near a river.) I figure we haven't had our share the past few years, so this is a good thing. What I can't stand is the wind, and I will never ask for that. Wednesday the Sacramento Valley got gusts up to 60 miles per hour. And I had to go to a doctors appointment!

It´s rained here for what must be a solid month, with just a short break where it snowed. It´s so depressing, day after day.
We had a dry summer last year and were complaining about a lack of rain to top up the water level for this coming summer season, but this is just more than enough.
We have working holidaymakers here just now, and it´s terribly hard to get anything done with them whilst it rains, rains, rains.

Aw, I hear you, though. The weather is fickle...all or nothing. Happily, we've seen the sun a couple of days in a row, though it's been cold!
Hope the rain goes away for you, but comes back "as needed."

Oh wow I have heard about all that rain yall were getting. Man, that completely sucks. We got like 3-5 inches of rain here in Texas and it lasted for days and I could never do anything during that time. Actually I had wished for cold weather and like a few weeks ago, I got my wish, but it was not the temperature I was expecting. It was extremely colder than I wanted. It started feeling like it was 0s-15 degrees and here in Texas, are not used to those type of temperatures, but thats what I wished for.

Well the good news is that the snow has finally stopped and melted quite a bit. The bad news is that its raining non stop. I have not seen the sun in weeks to be honest with you. The bad thing about it is that while its warmer during the day, it drops below freezing during the night. So all of the water from the rain and melted snow freezes. Then it warms up and melts. Then it freezes again at night. Repeat until the point of mind numbing frustrating.

Where i live this phrase is not really used because i live on a rather dry countr so when rain comes it's a nice experience and we dont want it to go away.
But sometimes it would rain too much that we want it to go away but if it doesnt rain we want it back... so it's a never ending cycle.
