When you computing, you keep TV on too? in same time?

I keep Tv on too, just to watch time to time on news.
Because i live alone, this make me feel more better, just because i consider that Tv , is a good companion. i just kidding, but i keep my Tv om all time, even when i sleep, i can t sleep without tv. i know that is not good, but i never off tv, just when i do to work, or when i am out.
So, do you keep both, tv and computer on in same time?

Yes, most of the time, i will keep my tv on with the cartoon channel. I switch on the tv for my son to watch, so i can spend some time to online through my laptop, while he is enjoying his favorite cartoon channel. Actually, i will switch on the tv whenever i am back from shopping, because my son wants to watch his favorite cartoon shows right away. I also prefer to switch on my tv when i am alone at home, as it makes me feels secure, too. Even when i was at my parents home, i will see my father will keep the tv on, starting from early in the morning for the morning news.

When I had cable I used to do this. Now, I do it with DVD's and audio books. I like to multi-task even though A.J. Jacobs says it's bad. I've found, however, that he's right. You can't do too high level tasks at the same time. One needs to be a primary task like writing and one needs to be a secondary task like listening to a book or music.

Hi, icesmile. I don't have an TV at home. Just my laptop. Well ours, me and my husband's.
If I am home alone with a T.V. at home, I will keep the T.V. running. I feel secure knowing that it is noise in my home. I don't like a silent home when I am home alone. I like some noise. The T.V. makes me feel safe from any unwanted visitors.

Hey icesmile! No I don't keep the tv on unless I am actually
going to watch it! I can't concentrate on doing mylotting or
anything else if the tv is on! I also can't really sleep with
the tv on either! I have lived alone for many years and like
the quiet! So, I will play music or watch tv if I am doing
certain things that I don't really have to concentrate on like
cleaning, but if I am doing things that need my attention I like
quiet!

Nope, they are both in two different rooms. I guess when I check my e-mail during commercials that does count. I go into the other room. However, I do not watch television and do any real work on the computer. Most of the time I am on the computer or I am watching television. If only I had the ability to be in two places at once, that would save a lot of time.

Sometimes I admit that I keep the tv on when I'm on the computer. Usually when there's some tv program that I want to see, and I want to challenge myself to keep my attention in two things at the same time

Well i'm do the exact same thing you do except that i turn off the t.v if it's not really needed.
When i go on my computer i always leave my t.v on so that it livens the room a little more, i turn it off when i need to concentrate or soemtimes i just need a little noise in the room.
T.v sometimes keeps me entertaine, but the shows are boring because i dont have cable.

My TV is never turned off. I can't sleep or do anything else without it. When I leave the house I turn it off, but what is weird is when I come back home, I have to turn it back on immediately. I almost feel anxious if it is not on within a few minutes of my return home. I think one reason for this is because I dislike silence. I think the habit began when I was single and needed noise to combat lonliness. However, although, I am married now, the habit has not been broken and I need the TV on at all times even to this day. What is worse is that I rarely watch TV even though it is on all the time. To complicate matters, the TV not only has to be on, but it must be left on certain shows or I will wake up and not be able to go back to sleep.

Yes because I get really bored when going online and I like watching TV while waiting for my downloads to finish and waiting for the websites to load.

Hello, Multitasking ..jejeh ,.right.. yes I do that to.., Using my laptop while the tv is on.., Watching tv keeps me updated of the currents which i don't want to be ignorant of..It helps to beat up boring times.. but why don't you shut off the tv while you're sleeping.. arent you afraid it might initiate fire in your house..,

Some times.because I do not like the feeling of lonely. when I computing, I like to hear other voice not come from my compture.but wast electricity.I think is not a good habit.
