When you do a spring cleaning or go through a closet ,what do you do with clothes and other items you don't want?I like to donate if the item is in decent condition.I hate to throw something out that someone else can use. What do you do with your unwanted items?

Hello Java,
Yes I will donate furniture or clothes but only if they're in good condition. Ive also gathered some beauty products that I havent used in a few weeks and havent been opened. I'll also donate canned foods to our church to help feed the hungry. Ive also given out books to a Old Senior Home. Ive also given out small appliances to family and friends when they said they needed one or said they liked mine.

I donate all of my unwanted items to the Salvation Army, anything they can sell for money, from big things like furniture to small things like books and all things in between. When my family had a fire in our home, the Salvation Army put us in a hotel, found us a place to stay while we were having our home repaired and paid for it, now if there is anything that I can donate so that they can help someone else, I will do just that.

I will usually give my clothing away to the Salvation Army. And, I will do the same thing with my children clothing too. If the clothing is not in such a good condition, then I will just throw them away. If it looks damaged or it has an stain that looks horrible, I will not give these clothes away. I want to be able to donate nice and well conditioned clothing.

hi java I just did that. my bureau drawers were so full I had a hard time opening and closing them, plus a lot of older tops I had had and never wore. So I sorted out and the good ones I took downstairs to the activity room, in two hours there was only one
top left so aomeone did take advantage of my old clothes. I was so glad as I hated to just toss them. they were all wearable. just some I did not like others did not fit right, and I was never going to wear them. so I decided someone should get to u se them.

Yes I do give it away every December 30 but last year when typhoon Ondoy hits our country I donated 2 sacks of it in September. So I gave away the remaining on December. I believe blessings do come in thousand folds when you share what you have. I don't give away rotten or ruined clothes. I guess it's better if we give it while it can still be use. I am not rich but I believe I can help by doing something like this. Little deeds means so much to God. I have a great belief in God and I am thankful for everything He has bestowed upon us. So this just comes to show I am grateful and I am willing to share too His blessings for us. Thanks!

I always try to have a sort out of all the things that i no longer want or that i no longer need if i have a charity collection bag come through my door as this is good as then i do not have to travel to get rid of the things that would be good for someone else or even for a charity to sell.I hate to throw things away that are still like new but are no longer required.

If it whole, I'll wash it and give it to the salvation army. They have a box in which you can put things just across the road from where I live. Last summer I cleaned out my fathers closets and gave them 5 big bags of clothes. He buys thing he'll never use, so some of the shirts were still wrapped in plastic.

It is better to donate your unwanted things that are still good to use to the people that needs it. There are things are not anymore useful to us but eventually useful to others.
It is better to give it to others rather than just trow it away. If you do this you can do good thing; giving and protecting the environment.
If you give or donate unwanted things to others, you are helping the environment cause what you actually does is recycling. Those people who receive your donated things will not buy new one and that will make a difference.
If these people will not buy new things because they receive it from someone, then there will be lesser production that will take place, and there will be lesser raw materials in nature that would be process in the factories.
