Just being there

Last night, my son woke up in the middle of the night, didn't say anything, and just hugged me. I figured he must have just had a bad dream. Thankfully I was there when he needed me.
Made me think of this discussion...
Often we here people saying or thanking another for just being there. What particular circumstances would you or could you say that you were there for someone else? I know this is a bit personal, so if you just want to share something as trivial as my example, it would still be appreciated. Thanks

I and my BF have been always in different cities. We have been in love for 4 years. At the same time ,we have been in different cities for 4 years too!No matter how we love each other, and more!I love him more and more, but i also increasingly rely on him.Our time together is very limited. Now,i hope he can always beside me,hug me!When i wake up every day ,he is not in my side.At that time,i always feel disappointed.

Your story isn't trivial! So many fathers aren't there fopr their children! And even though your little man may not tell you, he will remember these moments. Without going into details , I am always there for my best friend. He was there for me on the darkest day of my life and now I'm there for him.

when my father is sick i would always be on his side in the hospital to care for him and i would do anything just to make his spirit lifted.

I recently lost my father. I was overwhelmed with the support that my friends had for me. They immediately came and stayed with me during the wake, even though most of these friends are those whom I haven't seen for years. It made me realize that despite time and distance, they are concerned about me and that they are just there. Even if I didn't inform them about my dad's passing, they came immediately as soon as they learned about it.
