Robert B Parker, author of the Spenser novels and other detective series, has died. The 80's television series, Spenser For Hire, was based on the main character of the novels. The series was what got me interested in the novels, although I think I had already read one before the series started. I remember checking the used book store regularly trying to find the earlier ones. When I heard he died I felt really sad to know there won't be any more Spenser novels. When I finish those I guess I'll have to start reading his other series. I've read a couple of the Jesse Stone series and I believe he has a female detective series as well. For those of you familiar with his work, which are your favorites?
