another bad experience from a doctor. from the time i noticed my daughter coughing, i immediately brought her to the nearest pedia. she was diagnosed to have clear lungs and so she was given some medicine for her cough. 3 days later, she got sick and again i immediately brought her back to the same doctor and to my surprise, the doctor this time told that she already has a pnuemonia! i said wow! pneumonia that fast in 3days time?! i go for a 2nd opinion and guess what, she is only suffering from a sore throat that made her temperature rise a bit. its not my first time to encounter such kind of a doctor. i was suffering from a stiffneck for almost 2weeks and went back 4times to the same doctor and on my 5th visit, she just told me to bear with the pain! am i just lucky enough to have a bad experiences from them?

Are you taking your child to a 'dock in the box' type of care facility? If so I think they are a bunch of quacks. I would make a stink about it. Makes you wonder.

unfortunately, she's the only pedia on town. it would require me an hour of travel to reach the good ones lair.

Doctors are just prescribing medicine based on what the test and experiences of the patient is. We have the 2nd opinion for other option, even 3rd opinion can be used too if you want. Some of them with lots of experience is never wrong in their analysis but some still making a mistake. Anyhow, they are just human prone to mistake and learning is continous, but i hope that doctors can really help their patient because they have knowledge in healing people. I hope they do their job very well, anyhow not all doctors are like that. Some doctors they are very pasionate in what they do, that is why their patients are so lucky to have them.

just cant understand why they would they insist to guess on something they arent sure of when they can refer you to other specialist instead. i just realized that when going to a physician, the older they are the better they prescribe.

drakesuyat we all forget one real basic fact Doctors are just humans not Gods so you need to change doctors at times to get the wheat from the chaff. With a stiff neck after two weeks I would make that doctor send me to an orthopedist to be checked out also did this doctor check your glands in your neck for swollen lymph nodes a sign of infection? that happens at times and your neck get stiff and hurts horribly and you have an infection.did this happen around the time your daughter had the sore throat? Did she even suggest heat packs to help alleviate the pain or give you a prescription, there are things that they can give to help a stiff neck.Usually there is some cause for a stiff neck. I got one from whiplash and my primary care doctor put me on muscle relaxants and that cured that. they are so painful it makes my neck muscles cringe just thinking about it. that doctor should not have just told you to grin and bear it,it was your neck not hers. darn.

i agree with that hatley. actually after a week of suffering from that stiff neck, i even suggested that doctor for an x-ray coz im already bothered. when the result came out, there was nothing and she gave another prescription and ask me to go back after another week. i ask her what if the pain is still there? to my surprise she answered "just bear with the pain" whew! only then did i decide to consult to other physicians.

Luckily, I've never had that kind of thing happen to me with a doctor. My sister-in-law on the other hand has really been through the ringer with her daughters. First off the littlest one came home with dry skin after spending two weeks her grandparents house. She took the baby to the emergency room where she was diagnosed with a yeast infection. However, this is two weeks later and she is still just as dry on her skin and her diaper area has not cleared up with Nystatin. Then, this week both of them caught what my daughter had last week. She had a sinus infection and her daughters were diagnosed with Croup and not given any antibiotics.
