I reckon Fergie will go in a couple of seasons especially if the off pitch turmoil continues and effects the way he manages the team. Whilst there is much noise about someone like Mourinho taking over, and we all know he wants to, I think it may be another British manager.
I could see someone like Alex McLeish, David Moyes or Roy Hodgson taking over from him but I am not sure anyone will ever emulate the success he has had with the team.
It would be quite funny if when he does decide to retire his son Darren has proven himself enough and gets to carry on.

This is a very tough question indeed? After so many years at the helm of a legendary football club and having brought it so much glory, it is indeed difficult to imagine Manchester United without Sir Alex. But all good things must come to an end and so must this era.I do not see any one capable of doing it at the moment but when the time comes there will be someone I am sure who will do a decent job though not be able entirely replace the great legend called Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sir Alex Ferguson is Manchester United. He has two more years until retirement.I think that the best option for Manchester United is the Aston Villa current coach,Martin O'Neill. He is devoted to football and thinks 24/7 only at football.Only by looking at him during a match you can see how this man sees football. If not Martin O'Neill, the second best option I think would be Harry Redknapp. He confirmed at Tottenham that he is a good coach and can also do a great joc at United.

obviously, replacing sir alex ferguson will be a very tough job. sir alex himself must be having something in his mind and must be planning and doing something about it. i heard ole gunnar solskjaer is coaching the reserve united side. if it's true then he must have learned a lot from sir alex himself, and he was also one of united's star players. so solskjaer may be one good choice. besides, there were rumours about jose mourinho being interested in replacing sir alex. he is also one very good choice according to me.

I see Laurent Blanc an excellent replacement for SAF, he has done super well with Bordeuax and he also is a Manchester United fan. Also, I think the likes of Mourinho and Pep are likely targets.

I'd have to say that a real shocker will be to see Jose Mourinho replace Sir Alex. But not necessarily impossible since Mourinho is a very experienced coach. Also there are many discussions about Pep Guardiola coming to MU. Honestly I wouldn't like to see Pep go to MU. I would prefer him in Italy if he decides to leave Barca. My favourite solution would be to see Roy Keane on MU bench. One season together with Sir Alex and after that for him to remain as General Manager.
