Why do people get bored in school and have fun in parties?

Most of the people I know find studying a boring activity(not for me). Instead, they enjoy going into parties, discos and bars which are very noisy and crowded. Why do you think people get bored in school and have fun in parties? And which do you prefer to go? in school or in a party, disco, or bar?
