My freind has a question to me and I have to admit that it's really hard for me to answer. So I would like some helps to answer the question for my friend.
My friend is female. She want a job as PR(public relation). So she asked me if the one who works as PR must be beautiful only. Actually, she's good looking to me but not really outstanding. She's been sale for 3 months already and found out that she doesn't like sale but to meet more people so she decide to be PR.
Can anyone here answer me if she will get the job she wants or not? so I can tell her he he he thank you.

From a standpoint of a person being qualified for a job, I don't think that a person's experience should make a difference in whether or not a person gets a job. That said, I really think when she is going for the job that she desires, it really will depend on the person that is doing the interviewing for the job. Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you or to your friend because the best answer that I can give is that I really don't know.

I think it is possible. I do however, believe that first impressions are killer in job interviews. If yo have piercings and tattoos all over its harder to get a professional job. Your looks are a big factor in a first impression, but I think if you are qualified or highly qualified they may bypass that.

I really don’t know. It depends on the Human Resource if they consider someone who is not good looking but smart and confidence. I think for me personality and job knowledge counts. There are so many there good looking but with less brain. When your personality is outstanding , it grabs the physical appearance. Some get the job by the way they looks, but she or he needs to be smart and have experience with the job.

Of course. There is no doubt in that. I would like to say one thing here. How will you decide if a person is beautiful or not? Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. It is not must that a person will get job if he is good looking. The important part is if he is well qualified for the job. Another thing is the way he present himself in front of the person taking the inteview. He should be smart and have knowledge and experience in the respective field.

Yes of course!everybody can get a job despite of physical shortcomings. I don't it is fair to judge a person's ability through his or her physical attributes. There are people I know who are not good looking manage to have a tremendous careers. Most companies prefer brainy people and not because he or she has a face "that could launch a thousand ships" joke.

Its one of the criteria being a PR is to be good looking, good looking comes with a lot of meaning, someone you can see is looks good in wearing clothes, she might be good looking when she puts on make up, its not an appearance that count in this kind of job,its the ability to present yourself and how to deal with people,If PR will always be good looking how about the one whose got the brain and less in beauty, present herself as a PR in ability not all about beauty, when you got a brain you can feel yourself more worth than got a beauty! hehehe..Happy myLotting!

Depends on the job. It's a known fact that people judge based on visual appearance. Maybe it should not be that way, but we can either deal with reality the way that it is, or be bitter about how it should be.
In this case, it depends greatly on the specific job. PR covers a ton of areas, and hundreds of companies. If a company knows that a specific PR person is going to be in front of the camera and on TV, they will choose someone who looks great. Again, people judge based on appearance especially when they only see a short snippet from a cute girl on TV. That tiny 30 second spot, isn't long enough to judge based on what she says, unless she says something obviously stupid.
Alternatively, if a corporation is going to hire a girl to do PR at say private party of large company customers, then appearance is less important than speaking ability and intelligence.
Not saying that it is not important, but generally large corporate customers are going to be less impressed and distracted by looks, and rather by does the product do what they want, does she understand their needs, and how the product, not the presenter, is presented.
So, it depends.

She needs to dress appropriately for the job of course, Don't wear alot of make-up to hide her looks because that would shout out low self-esteem...then do her job. If she does an excellent job at PR them looks are not going to matter.... Sometimes looks are only skin deep.... You can have the most beautiful person doing PR but can not do the job because of no skill..... Sometimes quality is better than quantity and looks come from the heart and not the face.

Hiya Hubfee,
Of course she does´nt have to be beautiful she must really like being with People and that does not make you a brilliant saleswoman either.
Personality outgoing personality I think that is what counts not everyone is like that. I don´t know your Friend but she sounds like she should get the Job hope she does anyway.

Hi hub,
That's discriminating. I know nowadays there are policies of not asking for picture on the application form or biodata to avoid being biased about the looks. beautiful or not what matters is how you will do the job that will be assigned to you.

Many of my friends, female, dreamt to be flight attendant when they were young. But some of them are shorter than the qualification and some of them couldn't pass the screening. They don't like to have plastic surgery. So they got another jobs which weren't their dream.

Of course, my friend! Getting a job doesn't always require to be beautiful. There are jobs which seeks smart and good-looking candidates. But there are examples where not so beautiful persons have succeeded through smartness and quick-wit. Their appearance didn't put an obstacle on their way of getting appointed. So, a female must not worry about her outlook and be confident in facing any test. Good luck to your friend!

Well my friend! Now-a-days I see in some cases that the private jobs which require only good-looking girls. They often result in a unpleasant incidents such as exploiting them in various ways. Once I heard of such an incident where the boss of the office tried to seduce his PA and became succeeded. We should stay alert for these cases. Good luck!

For to become PR one should be able to communicate and should be knowledgeable. It does not require any beauty. Also. there are beauty parlor to make anybody beauty. In my childhood , I heard that my relative went see a bride. That bride was Black. then the bridegroom parents were little hesitant. But the bridegroom has said " A darkest cloud has Silver Lightening". So, the marriage was solemnized. He saw the inner mind through her smile.Knowledge is a must.

someone who is not beautiful getting a PR job?
if the girl would look like as the mother of this champion in boxing, definitely not. hahaha kidin.
in PR, i think it is more on how you communicate with others.
you dont have to look like hollywood actresses, as long you know how to deal and communicate well, you will get the job.

I do not see why she can not get a job in PR.
I think self confidence would have a lot to
do with this. She can give it a try. Does she
have the knowledge she needs to do this, if
she does, I feel she could get a job doing PR
just as easy as anyone else.
Have a great day.

Defintely depending on the job I think some places do discriminate people by the way they look. I'm not just talking about hygiene. You could be the cleanest person in the world dress nicely, but if the person interviewing you thinks one is prettier than another they would go for them. It's wrong but it happens. As an ex manager when I did interviews I went alot by looks. YOu didn't need much brains for the job. If the person had done the job before of course they would get it before someone that hadn't but if I had to choose between some that had the same job qualifications It always came down to the one based on their looks. You can tell alot about a person based on their looks. Not always right but 8 times out of 10 I was. I mean wheather they would be a good worker or not.

I am sure when people are applying for a job the person
hiring isn't looking as to weather a person is good looking
or not. They will be looking at what kind of experience the person has
and as to whether they can do the job well. I think beauty is on the inside
and a lot of people don't think that way but a lot of people do. Looks are not
everything! I am sure she is nice looking! Good Luck!
P.S. Find the beauty within.

I think it determined by her ability and whether she can fit PR or not, good looking just one aspect but not the the most important.
If she want to get the job, she must know much about it and prepared well for the interview. The interviewer think much of the work experience more than the appearance.
