Body peircing for men shows a weak personality of trying to catch attention.
LOL sorry but that is SO NOT TRUE! and what a contradiction too..Its an art but only appropriate for women?? I disagree completely..Yes its an art form and its one that IS NOT gender specific by any means..and its certainly not a sign of weakness or low self esteem for those of us that truly appreciate and love body art...

hi akhil
guess you are from india, and you know, as part of our tradition, girls get the ear and nose pierced; they wear ornaments in ear and nose pin in nose. Boys too used to get ears pierced; but now it is gone; girls too don’t like to get the nose pierced any more.
I have seen some guys wearing one small ring in ear; this they said was done by acupuncture expert to cure some disease.
i had my ears pierced too, but now the holes are closed

First off for many who enjoy body piercing its NOT about being "cool"...granted sadly for much of the younger generation yes that is a factor just like with matching tattoos and hair colours or styles etc..For the younger crowd its unfortunately become a fashion statement, the "in" thing to do...HOWEVER there are those of us who find body art to be a beautiful form of self expression be it tattoos, piercings or body modifications of various other sorts....I've had 3 piercings (two are closed but I'm getting them redone) not including of course my ears which I got done for the first time when I was 13 then a second hole done with my daughter when she got hers done for the first time on her 14th birthday....I'm actually planning on getting a couple of other piercings this year and numerous tattoos...
Would I let my kids get pierced? Yep! in fact when I get my next piercing it'll be with them sometime over the next couple of weeks when they get their firsts done. Same with Tattoos...ever since my kids were quite young they've wanted piercings and tats and I told them that when they turn 16 they can get their first tat done..My son turned 16 last yr and I took him for his first...He is planning on getting another one done this yr....
Body art by no means is for everyone...not everyone appreciates it or like with you, not everyone understands it...thats ok though becuase those of us who truly do love it are the only ones that matter...I could care less if anyone likes my piercings or tats etc..I didnt do it and dont do it for anyone but ME ya know..Its not that its good or not good, its somethign I love (particularly tattoos) and somethng I enjoy....

Hi, akhilgupta26. I don't really care for any piercing that is beyond my nose and my ears. I kind of thought that getting a belly piercing would look cute. But, I don't think that I would get this done. All because of the risks in the end. I would not go any further than my nose and my ears. All the other piercings, like eyebrows, genital tongue and hand piercing is just beyond my float of boat. Even having the nipple piercing still gives me the cringes too.

I've had my ears pierced twice and I'm contemplating getting my navel pierced. What's cool about it depends on the person. Personally, I think it may just be because I like shiny things. I know that sounds childish, but sparkling earrings or other piercings draw my attention. However, I do not personally like it when a person is covered in piercings.
I would allow my kids to get their ears pierced around the time they were twelve, if they wanted to. I wouldn't let them get anything in other places until they were sixteen or seventeen. While they were in my house, I wouldn't allow anything permanently scarring, either. For example, gauges. I've been told by people who have them that once stretched beyond a certain point, the hole will not completely return to what is was before, like most piercings. Even the sizes that aren't permanent take an incredibly long time for them to return to their original size. I wouldn't want my kid to do something possibly permanently scarring to their body on a whim or because their friends are doing it.
