The squirrel of my dreams...

I have only been prescribed ibuprofen on one occasion - for a whiplash injury in an RTA. Within minutes of taking it, I started to feel incredibly relaxed and happy and the ground felt like foam rubber. I took myself off to bed and had the most vivid dream about a court hearing taking place in our local theatre. OK up to that point but, all the officials including the judge were squirrels... in full legal regalia - something like this one. Does ibuprofen have any strange effect on you?

i think you are unique wizzy ibuprofen usually just works as a mild painkiller for most people. how did you take it - with a glass of water or a mug of mushroom tea?

Just water... the doctor said it may have been because there was so much tension in my muscles that I sort of "over-relaxed"

Are you certain that was just ibuprofen? To what strength? For me, Ibuprofen is just mildly stronger than aspirin. The kind of dreams you describe are what I experienced after taking percocet, and going to bed. When people talked in my dream (an unusual occurrence in itself) I saw their words in little speech bubbles above their heads, like a cartoon.

I dont know what strength it was but, for some reason, they wouldn't give them to me for post-op pain ... they gave me those horrible solpadeine - soluble so you have to taste them for longer - bleugh! Cartoon dreams eh? You should have sold the rights to them.

Thanks for that extra information Gerty... I thought maybe they were concerned about what those squirrels might get up to next I must admit,I quite enjoyed the experience (the effects of the ibuprofen... NOT the whiplash injury!)

No, it doesn't. I'm going to the pharmacy and demand a bottle of the "funny" ibuprofen!

Hiya Wizzywig, Whiplash injury sounds very nasty maybe it had Codeine in it? That usually makes you feel like that like you are walking on foam rubber. Also can give you really strange dreams too. But taking Ibuprofen on it´s own has never done that to me only with the codeine in it.

Hiya Wizzywig, Codeine can be very relaxing specially if you have a nasty injury and you can´t move. I only take it when I am really desperate like when my back locks and I can´t move or my neck goes like that but that only happens once in a Blue Moon.

I have to ask the same question as others. . .are you sure it was just ibuprofen? It barely kills the pain for me. Are you someone that hardly ever takes any kind of medication? That could be part of it too.

Yes, it was ibuprofen, tho' I dont remember what strength. I am fortunate enough that I dont often feel the need for pain killers tho' so maybe that added to the effect.
