Forced to become self-reliant

Abrupt challenges in life gave me a chance to get to know myself better. I learned to rely on myself more. Whenever I'm in the city, I have no one to rely on but myself so I was forced to be strong and to keep myself entertained in order to avoid sad thoughts. My family is in the province and I don't want to disturb them everyday whenever I feel like crumbling from too much pain.
What about you? Are you getting to know yourself better as you grow older? Or do you have a fixed image of yourself?

I've learned the lesson to rely on myself a long time ago. Like you, I've moved away from family to get my education. The big city forces you to learn a lot of things fast. Even at work, I've learned to rely on myself more. Like the saying goes, if you want something done, and you want it done right, you've got to do it yourself.

Hello arystine. In a new place without any friends and relatives, we have to face anything by ourselves. Thus we are made to become self-reliant. It is also a way to make ourselves become more mature and experienced in dealing with things and people. Take care.

I really agree with your opinion , we are here , for our families , our friends , and also ourselves , but sometimes , when we come across some difficulties , there may be no one that have the ability to help us , maybe we are in a long distance from the one , or we are not allowed to get the help from others , when it comes to this point , we should make all the decisions all by ourselves .
Well , I regard self-reliant as a kind of capacity , and also someway a kind of character , we should learn how to deal with well ... ...
