ok so i found out i was pregnant via home pregnancy test i took last saturday...
had an appointment at the clinic yesterday and i was not able to go because i had to go to the emergency room. i had really bad cramping in lower back, and was bleeding not light bleeding but heavy bleeding.. also was passing blood clots.
went to emergency room convinced i lost the baby.. nurse took blood, doctor did pelvic exam, and also got a sonogram.. waited there from 3pm=11 15pm and all i was told was i have small veins, hard to get blood. and that i am classified as "threatened miscarriage" the doctor told me "there is something in ur uterous, whether its a baby im not sure, are you pregnant right now, id say yes.. but maybe maybe not ." i mean come on what the hell!!!!! seriously everyone he is a moron.
i wanna know if my baby is ok..!
i have read that some women have bleeding and lose clots during pregnancy and have a healthy baby. and that they were just bleeding out a hematoma or something from around their uterous.
someone please give me some advice.. i really want this baby this is my 1st pregnancy. since i got home from hosptial my bleeding has slowed down significantly and i no longer have any pain or cramps boobs are still sore from the pregnancy so i am really hopeful that our baby will be ok... have to go back to sunday morning for another ultrasound

I had a miscarriage a long time ago. It really scared me, there was so much blood and I had a whole week to find out what was going on. Unfortunately it was the last time I was pregnant, I think that if I was able to get pregnant again. I wouldn't be so afraid.

I bled with three of my four pregnancies in the early days and had to go for early pregnancy scans. I was told something pretty similar to what you were told that it was too early to say whether it was a pregnancy or not, I too could not understand what the doctor was on about but it was explained to me by a midwife that a pregnancy is not classed as a pregnancy until it is past a certain amount of weeks. Indeed a close friend of mine who also bled early on in her pregnancy also had an early scan and she was told the same, all her scan picture showed was an egg and although she had a positive pregnancy test it was a further 2 or 3 weeks before they confirmed that she had an actual baby in there! It was really bizarre and it was so funny to see her scan picture of an egg in her womb!

Hi, I'm sorry this is happening to you, it must be very worrying and frustrating not to know what's going on. If the home pregnancy test gave you a positive result then it's likely that you were pregnant at the time, as false positives are very rare. (False negatives are much more common).
I can only really echo what others have said about the bleeding. Some women do lose blood and still go on to have a healthy baby, but the heavy bleeding, clots and pain that you describe might, unfortunately mean that you've lost the baby.
I'm no expert but I find it hard to believe that they couldn't identify whether or not it was a baby in your uterus. Sounds like they couldn't be bothered to look properly, which is unforgivable. I also have small veins and always have problems when I have to have a blood test, but a good nurse can always manage to get blood out of somewhere, even if it takes a little time.
It's bad that you have to wait until Sunday to know what's going on. I wish you lots of luck, and I really hope that it works out well for you and that your baby's ok. I'll be thinking of you.

Just take a lot of rest. Stay in bed as much as you can and do not stress yourself much. Worrying will not help you, just rest your mind and sleep like sleeping beauty. I have experienced bleeding with my son Julian, well I was actually having my period regularly until I found out I was pregnant 3 months. Doctor gave me some medications. (Go to specialists (OBGyne) if your doctor is Moron! LOL :)) Julian is a healthy boy & normal. The first 3 months or pregnancy is the most critical period as the baby is developing his vital organs and all, you should be very cautious of what you take in inside your body and what you do in your daily activities. Do not carry heavy things & like I said, relax do not worry a lot. Worrying will make it even worse. Pray to God & everything will be Ok. If that little angel is yours, then it will be. If he was there for some reason, let it be. One thing is for sure, you are capable of bearing a child and that alone is a blessing. Goodluck my dear.

you should go to another doctor for a second opinion only a specialist could give you a correct diagnosis they would going to advise you more details in your cases which could be more quite helpful.

I do hope that everything is okay. Maybe sometimes it is best to check with another doctor. I would most definitely do that if the doctor did not sound like they know what they are talking about. Ask the doctor that you would like to confirm if you are pregnant or not and also that you would like to know if you are pregnant that your baby is okay. You should take it easy though, try avoid stress as much as possible. So as to if your baby is okay that you will not cause any harm to it. Just focus on you and your baby. I pray that everything is okay with you and your baby. Please keep us up to date with everything that is going on.

I am so sorry to hear of the stress but sometimes especially in the really early stages of pregnancy it's hard to tell. They need to get blood from you to run a more precise test. Yes, some women do have some bleeding at the beginning of the pregnacy but with the pain you were having, it sounds like you should definitely keep checking back.
Is there another clinic or doctor that you can go to that might be better? It's good that they are going to do another Ultrasound to check on Sunday. And try and get some rest and take it abit easy. Sadly, many women do lose their first pregnancy and many don't even realize that they were pregnant, they just think they had a heavier than normal period. I've heard that it said by doctors that it's our bodies way of getting ready which sounds very odd to me.
When you go back on Sunday, tell them you want a definitive blood test and you also want your rh factor checked. We all have blood types like O and A and B etc but what many don't know is there are other levels of blood types. Tell them you want to be tested along with your partner for RH factors. If he's negative and you are positive it can cause problems but can be solved by an injection to stabilize you.
You may have small veins but they are there, maybe they need to do a blood draw with a baby needle from your hand like I have to at times since I have fine veins too. There are many places to draw blood other than the crook of your arm!
I will add you and your baby and partner to my prayers and ask that God hear your prayers on wanting to keep this baby as he wills it. Try and do something to relax and rest and stay POSITIVE!! Please let us know how things turn out on Sunday.
