Hi Mylotter
I don't mind a nice smelling person walking by with a nice soft scent of perfume or cologne but when they over do it WOW! The scent can be over whelming
There are these two girls at work who always over do it when they use perfume and quite frankly its suffocating at timesI mean they don't even have to walk past me I smell them as almost as soon as they come through the door and when they walk past me.....OMG!It goes straight to my sinuses and then to my head, they didn't seem to have regard for others around them and their nice girls don't get me wrong but they just take a bath in the stuff right before they come to work and it would otherwise smell very good if they just tone it down a bit I told them so and they apologized and said they didn't realize that it was so strong because they couldn't smell it.I notice a lot of people do this I have experienced this almost wherever I have gone be it to the grocery store, the mall,a doctors office ect..
I have known men to do the same thing have you had any experiences with people who put on way to much cologne or perfume?

Perfume adds to the personality a person. But when it is overdone, it really irritates sometime. I don't like people who apply too much perfume. They just want the attention of others by overusing the perfume. But they don't know people are getting irritated.

Hi Dsnachiever
I see your point the coworker that I was talking about does like a lot of attention she seems to want to be noticed as soon as she comes in the room little does she now thats she's attracting the wrong kind of attention and appealing to the wrong set of human senses by over loading her skin with cologne

it annoys me when it is too much.an overwhelming perfume will make me sneeze.I like strong scents, but please use them sparingly.I have a male colleague who wears a very strong perfume that it becomes intoxicating already.I sneeze a lot when he goes near me.I prefer a strong perfume, but not too pungent.my nose can tell which perfumes are strong without being too overwhelming.

I love female perfume, but not when several women come together who have overdone their perfume, I like being close to women who are nicely scented. As I am not amongst females often, let alone very close,it's always a great experience. A while ago I was watching a movie with a female friend of mine and we got pretty close as it was so cosy and then I sniffed a bit and wow the scent, very tender yet present. ;-)

Hi Diamania
Thats good that you weren't overwhelmed by the sent your female friend didn't overdue it and realized that less is sometimes morewhen the fragrance is very light it can be just as sensual if not more sensual than if one puts on a large amount of it

I agree, some women (and men) can overdo their fragrances at times. Sometimes it may be due to the design of the bottle and the spray mechanism. The reason I say this is that they do vary depending on the scent. For example, I think the spray mechanism that's integrated into the bottle, such as Eternity for Women, makes it virtually impossible to use too much at any one time. I love the style of that bottle (and others like it such as that Dolce and Gabanna one with the red top) as the perfume lasts so much longer. However, I do take your point that women you know have told you they can't smell it...but everyone else can. They've probably got used to the smell. If they rotated their perfumes (even if they only had two different scents) they would probably be more aware. That's my theory anyway. I have to be careful with Davidoff Cool Water Summer that was a gift from my mother-in-law. It is more subtle than the Cool Water but it will give me a headache if I overdo it. The same goes for Obsession. I recently bought a small 20ml bottle of this (it's very cute) but I realise it is a strong scent so I shall have to be careful with it. The most subtle scent I have is Sun, Moon & Stars. At first I thought, "I can't smell it" but soon realised that it lasts all day, so if I kept topping it up it would be overpowering. Angel is lovely (a scent I don't have) but is very strong and I would say it's the perfume that women tend to overdo the most on.
