Can somebody explain the Obama health care act thing to me in lamens terms?

I am on public aid for my medical expenses. Sometimes called Medicaid, mediCal, Maine care etc. In any case, me and my children recurve public aid for our medical costs. We pay nothing. Not even for prescriptions, doctor visits, hospital expenses... We pay nothing. I thought the Obama health plan would be like the Medicaid we recurve but I've been told many other stories however and I'm confused now. Now I'm concerned everyone has to pay for insurance no matter what. Even if we can't afford anything, it is a law! What's the real deal? Please let me know!
