I have a cat and she has this strange habit of liking to drink her water out of those red plastic drinking cups. She has been doing this for a long time. If you have a glass of water next to you when you go to sleep. She will come over and start drinking out of it. We actually use to give her her water in plastic cups because she seems to like it so much. Does anyone else have a cat with a strange habit like this or do I just have a strange kitty?

I think that's so cute! She assumes that all glasses are hers to sip from! One of my cats loves to have a drink of dripping water from the tap every morning during the week whilst I do hair and makeup in the bathroom. She doesn't ask to do it on the weekends tho! Only during the week, so somehow she must be able to tell that during the week, I'm getting ready to rush off for hours and hours. Guess my energy must be more relaxed on the weekends! Be Well!!

My cats drink out of my cups.. and out of anything in the sink, the toilet.. I started leaving a 1 qt. Pitcher in the sink full so they would have some "extra" clean water to drink out of.. most of them prefer to drink anywhere than the communal 1 qt bowl that all the dogs and cats normally share.
I have one that would always wait for me to fill the bowl up with fresh water so she could be the first to drink out of it. But often I find them drinking out of my cup of water that I leave at my bedside.. :-/

Our kitty is about 4 years old and has drank from a glass almost as long as we have had her. Every time someone had a glass of something to drink and would set it down she would try to drink from it. I finally got her her own large mouth glass and set it on a work table and she has been drinking from it ever since. She seemed to prefer the glass to a bowl.

My cat likes to drink out of anything bowls glasses cups or even the toliet. He does not discriminate. He is an equal opportunity drinker.

My cat always tries to drink out of my glasses of water. It doesn't bother me unless it's when I'm sleeping and she knocks a glass of water over. I have a lot of important stuff next to my bed that I don't want to get wet. But she's just a kitty so I try not to get to mad at her.

When my cat Precious was a kitten he used to drink his water out of plastic lids because we couldn't use a bowl. Now, even though he's anadult he still likes plastic lids to eat or drink out of even though he has a drinking foutin and a water bowl.

My mom used to have a cat that would chase the ice cubes around the glass when it was low.
Maggiepie's cat, Minnie, took to only wanting to drink out of this jar she had marbles and stuff in, she ended up letting her have it on the floor since she would jump on the counter to get it and was having trouble jumping that high, because of her bad eye.
