Try Zone Alarm Extreme, I have been using it for the past year and I have had no problems at all what so ever. It comes with network protection and a browser protection also. It picks up all the viruses instantly before they get unleashed into your computer.
I strongly recommend Zone Alarm Extreme Security Suite. It also has a user friendly interface and is very easy to use and manage.
On the side you might want to consider Spyware Doctor as a back up virus remover.

what i will write now may sound wierd to you but this this is reality that any antivirus is not able to detect every virus.there will be a virus left by any of antivirus you use.
you know 1000's of viruses are being developed daily.

hey friend, i haven't tried other, except this 2 anti-virus, avira and kaspersky 2010. they are active in my pc.. my kaspersky detects virus from the net and my avira detects virus from usb. but they both do prevent virus from net and drives. i don't know where you can get avira for free, but kaspersky has trial version, and for longer usage, convert it to beta.. you can see how to convert in youtube..^^,
