Hi everybody, any doctors or experts in rheumatoid arthritis here? I want some advices to cope with this illness. My mother has suffered from it for more then ten years. She has a pain in her deformed joints all day especially from midnight to morning which also effects her sleep quality. Besides, it's inconvinient for her to do any thing which should be finished by arms and legs. Sometimes she is even not able to put off or get dressed. Her state of illness had been eased up for more than two years by taking a medicine named Periploca forrestii Schltr, but the illness was aggravated recently. I have no idea what should I do, just tugged at my heartstrings. I need your help sincerely, would you please help me?

Hi zfdavid006, i pity your mum suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, it's a very painful malady. I'm not a doctor or that sort of thing but i know what people who suffer from this disease have to go through, cause i also once suffered from this painful disease. The best way to get some comfort is to always stay warm, the pain elavates during the cold winter seasons, so i would advise you to use hot water bags and heating pads to keep her warm and also drinking lots of warm water helps (i.e in my case) i was prescribed some medications, but i've forgotten what it was, since it's been such a long time that i was cured of the disease. It was some tablets and an ointment, i'm so sorry i can't recall what it was. Why don't you try to research some medical sites, they may have something that can help her. Hope she recovers soon. Thank you.

RA does not have a "cure". So either you still have it and it's in remission or very mild or you never had it to begin with. If there was a cure for it there wouldn't be so many people, myself included, suffering daily from it.

I'm so sorry, I wish I knew. I have a cousin who has rheumatoid arthritis and she has been so badly affected, it's amazing to me she gets around. She had to have surgery on her esophagus recently because the medicine she was taking for the rheumatoid arthritis burned a hole in her esophagus. Have you ever been to www.webmd.com? It has had helpful tips for me in the past for my own health problems, but maybe you have already been there...
