i usually don't like scam reporting. i don't like trashing something that may be making someone a living they depend on. i have to admit, and apologize to my mylot members about my prior position on that issue. if a site is not doing what it supposed to be doing, making it difficult or impossible to reach payout, has no support or admin (does not respond), and of course does not pay...it IS a scam. i never had a problem with that. i only had a problem with people calling things a scam without even really trying and seeing what's it all about first. well, i did honestly do that with this site people string. i read the tos and faqs. i inquired with other members. i attempted to get support from site admin. after that, now i can official say that it IS a scam. it's important to get this kind of stuff out, because at best, it will make the site act like it supposed to with some pressure. or, it will fold like it supposed to if it doesn't agree to do it's members the right way.
many people have been wondering about this site. let me share my experience with you and you decide. i wish i could send you to my blog, but it is part of my site with all my affiliate links on them, and i don't want to have this deleted. so i will just have to write all of it out. i will try to keep it simple:
site claims
-.50 cents per referrals
-70% of their revenue for using their site
-paid to do free and paid offers
-1.53 to confirm your home address
-.10 to confirm you email
-paid emails
-paid direct mail offers
bumber
-you will have to wait up to 30 days before you get the confirmation post card that has the code to go back to the site and enter, so that you can start to get paid
-they did not give me credit (nor a friend of mine) for referrals. supposedly, at least your referrals will show up as pending. ours didn't
-three weeks after i registered...no confirmation code
-after you get the confirmation, it will take 30-60 days for you to start getting the paid emails or regular mails.
-i tried to contact admin about not getting my confirmation code in the mail, or credit for my referrals.
-a week went by and no response from admin
-went to tos and faqs, but very brief and dosen't go into much detail
-the members were of more help
-another few days went by and i attepmted to contact them. still no response
-instead, i tried to log in the other day and my account got disabled
-i wrote a support ticket 48 hours later, still no response.
beware of sites where admin does not respond to you. if they couldn't answer my question in a timely manner, they sure did come quick to cancell my account...with out any warning or chance. i am glad that i didn't do any paid offers. the most i wasted was time promoting their crappy site. i don't care really, because i wasn't really amp about getting me and my referrals into some scheme where you don't even START getting paid until 3 months. another strange thing about that site is that i never heard of anyone actually getting paid by them. i don't know. if you have time and/or money to waste. you may decide to give it a try..lol. after all, it is free. who knows maybe it's something i did wrong, and it may work out for you. i would have at least like some kind of warning, or at least a response. if you do decide to give it a try, just be careful. try to read and understand their tos and faqs. don't spend any money on that site either. see for yourself if you dare. good luck.

I am also a member of this site. I joined because I read some good feedback about them also here on mylot. I wonder why I didn't come across this thread. Anyway, regarding what you mentioned about the admin, I have the same experience. I wrote and asked them if I can refer members of my household. My sons and I are all members of facebook and friendster, we are all connected there, and since people string is a social site I thought my sons and I can also be connected there. But, because since this is a social site from which you can earn from your referrals there may be some guidelines about it. But, like you said I got no reply from the admin. It's been days now and still no reply from them. I also agree that the admin should take care of their members by answering all their queries. So, I think I'll just not promote this site to my friends. You have a point in thinking that this could be just another scam.

one of the things that make me feel safe about a site is that i can get in touch with their admin. i know of some great sites where you can actually talk to admin live and they payout every time they say they will. as long as you follow their terms of service and read their faqs sections everything should be fine. even still, they just don't drop you like a hot potato. just like mylot, if you make a mistake you are at least given a chance to correct it. how can you be sure you will get paid if you can't even talk to site support? it's a shame though, because i met some really great people on people string. that's about the only thing good about that site. if you are on there, i say use em for the contacts and then don't care what happens after that.

Thank you for this very detailed sharing of your experience with the site. I signed up with them but didn't really do much else. I have someone, my referrer I think, who emails me every once in a while as part of her distro but i don't really get much useful information. Maybe I'll try checking out the site again while being wary of what you've already listed here...

peoplestring is a definite scam!!! avoid investing there!!!!
2 years passed when i upgraded there and paid 250$. they promised to supply 250 referrals- of course they didn't!
in the last year i didn't earn anything!!!!
all my referrals left because they didn't earn anything- so i couldn't earn from my referrals.
none of my support tickets is answered!
my remarks in facebook are deleated....
i spoke to some other members and they are experiecing the same.
and how dare they to publish themselves and ask people to upgrade????????
maybe they are ok but only for americans. they totaly ignore other countries.they are only nice when they take the money.

I got my post card very quickly. I also was able to confirm my email and use the codes. I even did cash back shopping there too. I have like $6.00 there so far. Thanks for the information. I guess they all can't be good. I had know idea. I guess I should have researched it better before joining and participating.

I recently joined PeopleString (about 3 days ago) and now I am on the look-out for information like this so that before I put all my efforts in working it out, I will be sure whether its worth my effort and attention. I am well-respected by my peers and if it is true PeopleString is a scam, then I will be losing face to my friends. Thanks for bringing this out. I will try to scan the web for more info using the keyword "PeopleString Scam".
