Are you able to - Be Here Now - be present where you are with what you're doing?

The reason I ask this is that I so often see a couple out to dinner and one or both are on their cell phones and not paying attention to each other or their meal. We seem to be so driven to multi-task that we aren't in the moment. Are you so busy thinking of what you're going to do next that you miss what's going on now? What are your thoughts on this? How does this affect your life and are you making any changes?

Hi there Dragonfly4life!
I often see similar scenarios. In school, I notice a lot of students sharing table in the canteen but seem to be far away from each other. Some are busy with their laptops while others are busy with their cell phones. Others are on their PSPs. You would know they are friends but they seem to be very distant because of their gadgets. In restaurants, couples, sometimes families come in to eat but again, too distant from each other due to cell phones or other stuffs.
Whenever I go out with my parents or my boyfriend, one thing I do is pay attentiont to them. I don't want to waste precious time with these special people just because I have to be on my cell phone or something like that.

Good for you! Be present in your own life. I'm sure your loved ones appreciate it too. When it's time to be with those that are important to me I put my phone on quiet and enjoy our time together. My phone is for my convenience, not to run my life by always interrupting. Thanks for the comment.
