Why are people so attracted to love stories or movies. Some, even sad love stories. Maybe because it touches our hearts, maybe it teaches us something about love. Sometimes, you can certainly imagine the love story playing out in a film. The man, insignificant and most certainly grotesque by many people's standards and the lady, a stunning beauty. Two people from totally two different backgrounds brough together by the extremely mystical bond of love. Sometimes, we even play the parts.

I love watching romantic movies because I can relate to how those love stories were portrayed in the movie. Sometimes it makes me nostalgic on how reality bites when two people are in a relationship. When the movie is a romantic comedy, I usually feel blissful after watching it and excited at the thought of falling in love. When the movie is a drama/love story, I am moved to tears especially when I have experienced what the characters went through in the movie.

You are right, we play the parts, we see ourselves in those stories. I think it is because we are all inherently capable of loving, so we are able to understand, even predict, and relate to love stories and romantic movies well. We can learn from it, and it is indeed heartwarming.

In the bible, it is stated that "The eye is the window to your soul." And I believe that. You will be very influenced by what you daily sees and watch. I watch love movies at times, and when it's a happy ending, I come out with a feeling of satisfaction. I do believe in every drama there's a wisdom or a lesson to be learned, about love, the extend that people would go for their loved ones, about life, etc. And it's nice to know.

Because we are humans, we have emotions, and we are capable of loving. Love is a great feeling, an I'm not just talking about romantic love, but all forms of love. :-) We are greatly affected because like what you said, it touches our hearts.
