I do take mental notes because I have noticed that if I reach a certain number of discussions in a day, I also get a specific number of earnings for that day. So I could pretty much guess how much I will earn for the day.
When I was starting here, I did list down every bit of detail of participation from myLot. I write in an old notebook that has a few clean pages at the back. I would list down the date, the number of responses/discussions that I made on that day, the number of earnings that I got for that day. Of course, I was confused at that time cause there was a day that Id get to make 30 responses, but only get $0.08, then the next day when I managed to post only 7, Id get $0.40 for that.
That made me wonder and ask around, then I learned that the earnings for the day are based on myLot headquarters' time zone and not mine.
Over time I stopped listing down my myLot participation. I just enjoyed my stay here whenever I could.

Hahaha :D well I should say that I only mentally count my number of discussions participated.. and not that I write that on a notebook.. it requires great effort :D

hello cecillecarmela...
nope, i don't count how many discussions do i responded/participated in a day. and actually i also don't know how many post do i made in a day...
as far as i am concern, i just respond to those of my friend's discussions and to those of others discussions that interest me and that i feel like i have something to say. depends on my mood, i can post many for a day and even nothing...hehe
but one thing for sure, the more i post & participate in discussions...the more i will earn...

Aside from the number of posts you participate in, it is also important that you post 5 liner responses or more, rather than a lot of responded discussions and less lines.. :) I noticed I am earning more when I post 5 lines or more posts than when I participate and only few lines :)
Thanks for the response ckyera :)

For me, I normally don't count the number of discussions I participated in or responded to. I don't think there is a need for me to do so, because I feel that my participation here should be based on my mood and motivation for the day, as well as the time that is at hand for me to be here. Besides, I don't really mind about the earnings and I just let it come as it comes. Neither do I have a set number of discussions/responds to make daily, nor do I have any set amount of money to earn from myLot daily. Personally, the joy of participating on myLot with an awesome bunch of community exceeds all else.....

I agree gerald_lian :D
earnings should be the least priority here.. ;) but personally I'd also like to find out if my efforts reflect on my earnings..anyways like you i'm not really into the earnings.. i'm more into having friends here and sharing what i have learned and learning from what others are sharing ;)
it's good to know that most mylotters don't really care about their earnings :) and I love that. thanks gerald for participating and God bless :)

Wow based on the number of responders here, most don't care about the algorithms here on mylot :) and I love that most mylotters' purpose here is basically to share and learn. And I agree, it can be time-consuming ;)
Take care and God bless

Hi, I'm new to MyLot. I found out right now that the earnings are coming only when somebody replies to one of my posts or comments one of my replies. the amount is different too. My first earning was a comment from a reply, and I acquired $0.06. Another was from a reply on my post, and I get another $0.13.

And sadly it turned out I was wrong. Yesterday I posted some responses and replied some comments, but I don't receive any earnings on that particular day. I think that's because I skipped two days without any participation. Maybe some of us who are online 24/7 can do some math?
Sorry for the miscalculation.

I respond until I'm either done or tired... I'm happy if I've gotten all my notifications dealt with, even happier if I've also got the digests out of the way - that's not to say I don't also look at discussions in my favorite interests if they have any thing at the top of the page...

I guess it really depends on the person.. if it's more convenient for him to mylot on mood or by schedule.. :)

I used to keep count, so that way I could guess what I've earned that day according to how many discussions I responded to. Now days, I don't keep count anymore, I'm lucky if I can even get on here and respond everyday, I just try to do what I can when I can. I admit, it takes awhile to reach payout now, since I don't respond a whole lot.

Awww.. that's bad :( maybe a mylot schedule is much more convenient for you.. since it really depends on the person.. but as what i've observed most mylotters prefer to enjoy than to track their mylot participation here :)
thanks again walijo and God bless :D

I use to count everything when it came to mylot, discussions I started, responses to responses on those discussions response to other discussions as well as keeping an eye on the total next to my name. But that was when I use to set myself a target and was challenging myself to do more and earn more each day. I never could work any exact correlation between my activity and earnings as there are too many other factors too take into account which we are unaware of.
These days I never bother, I have no goal for responses, I don't monitor my response rate and rarely take notice of what I earn on any particular day. Probably the only time I look is when I notice a huge jump in overall earnings.

hi cecillecarmela!
I sometimes do, but most of the time I really don't count the number of posts I made. But there was a time that I monitored the number of responses I made in a day, that was when I had my 2 days vacation from work and got nothing to do at home. I set a certain number of responses to be made that day and I was able to reached that goal. I think it helped me to answer more discussions because, I set a certain goal and it gives me enthusiasm to post more. It affects my earnings dramatically. I was able to earn more. But right now, I really don't count the number of post I made. I just go with the flow and enjoy every minute that I have here.
Happy Lotting!

I do not count the number of participation because it is being counted by Mylot. Secondly I respond to the discussion which I know something.

Sometimes I will notice the number of my posts, and sometimes I forget to even look ; ) But I just try to participate every chance that I have a minute. By reading the comments to this discussion, I am learning obviously that when you start a discussion, I guess it helps your earnings when they get responses, huh? Nevertheless, I just do what I can, when I can. But so far, I am having fun! ; )

i did that on my first month here in mylot. but after the first pay-out i didn't count anymore. there were also months that i could not be active so i never kept track of the number of discussions i participate in.
i don't have a daily target as to the number of posts. it's hard to do that with my schedule now.
as for the earnings, i don't have a goal either. after several pay-outs, i increased the bar so i don't have to watch out for the $10 pay-outs. there would be inactive months anyway.
earnings is as earnings go. cents do add up but i'm not pressured to participate just because of the earnings. although today, i was surprised of the sudden increase of my earnings. twice today it has increased. in total, earnings went up by 19 cents. it was a nice surprise.

Of cource not. It can be a waste of time, I suppose.
Well, there is no a minimum number that I should posts per day, but I just try to be more active. If I'm interested in some topics, I wanna give my views.
But the number of posts that you make do affect your earning. To some extent, the more you post, the more you may earn. Anyway, the quality of your posts is also quite important.

I believe and have quite observed that the quality of a mylotter's post is more important. I noticed that I tend to earn more in participating to few discussions but with five liner (or more) explanation rather in many discussions but few line explanation :) I suppose in real life the quality is still more important than the quantity ;) and like what I said earlier to the previous responder, it depends on the mylotter.. --whether he mylots by mood or by schedule ;)
thanks for your participation here banban and take care!! ;)

I try to do 100 a day but of course I almost always fall short of my goals of course. But yes, I would imagine that the more you post (assuming they're thoughtful, relevant, and good posts), the more you will earn. This is what I tell myself, anyhow! Of course we don't know exactly how much we're making per post, but logic tells us that the more good posts we make, the more money we'll make.

I keep account of how many discussions I have participated in everyday. I usually try to do get at least to 20 each day. However, there are many times I can't find any discussions that I find compelled to reply too. So I will go to another site and then come back to mylot hoping to find good discussions. The more you respond to discussions the more I believe you make especially if you write alot in your response.

I agree lelin :) the secret here is to combine quality and quantity.. meaning participate in more discussions but make sure that they have quality responses. thanks lelin and God bless ;D

I love to track down things so yes I have been counting the number of discussion just to check on how I am adding up to my earnings in a daily basis. I also want to see if I am doing yesterday than the other day and I am just basically curious on my earnings. I am trying to do a minimum number of discussions and I try to make up for it on the next day if I do not reach it for a specific day.

Hi sublime :) thanks for the response.. mind if i ask another question?? does your algorithms reflect on your earnings?? I've also been trying to do the same thing and it shows and I observed that quality always pays more than quantity, literally :) so how about your own observation?? does it reflect on your earnings? :)
thanks again sublime and God bless :D

I count the number of discussions I started and responded here in mylot. In fact I'm taking notes. Why? I would like to know the value of every participation I made. And I found out that the number of participation made is not equivalent to my earnings. For example I made 20 discussions, it doesnt quantify to 20 cents but more than 20 cents.
I used to have minimum number of discussions for a day but everyday is not the same. Sometimes I'm lazy, less motivated, having a headache, sleepy and tired.
Some days were good, motivated, alive and kicking in writing. It really varies everyday.

I very much agree with your answers maria1081 ;) it's kind of "rewarding" if you track down your participation on mylot and see for yourself that it reflects on the earnings :)) and just like you, most of the time it also depends on my mood whether i like to mylot or not :) except that i was very busy last semester, i wasn't able to mylot the whole first semester :))) but now that i have a convenient schedule i'll try to mylot by schedule and will see if it'll work for me.. maybe it'll just have to take a lot of discipline.. :)))
thanks for participating :) take care maria and happy mylotting :)
