Okay, we are all friends here and maybe some of you will think that i am a bit crazy, but let us get this over with. We as women has this tendancy to shy away from answering when it comes to our weight and age. Sometimes, i really wonder why? I am not saying to tell the whole wide world, but as we all are friends here, will you trust me enough to tell me this? I turned 36 today and i weigh 58,7 kg. So there, that wasn,t so bad, or was it. We just have to get over this, we cannot ignore it every time. Men are welcome, as well, if you are not the shy type.

hi saphrina!^^
I agree, women really have the tendency to be ashamed of telling their weight and age but only if they feel like they are getting old and if they are getting heavy everyday.^^;; I for one is feeling a little ashamed lately of telling my age. And to think I'm only 27! Well, it's because people around me keep telling me that i'm getting old and that i should marry already and that I might not get pregnant in the future. They usually say bad things so i tend to think twice when telling my age. Only a few encourages me when I say I still like being single and I still have lots of things I want to do in my life.
With my weight, I am not ashamed to say it, I'm probably 50 kgs by now. I am not overweight nor underweight considering my height so I am not ashamed to speak about my weight.^^

Let me tell you, my girl. Those who have a lot to say about your age, are only jealous. You are single, so you can do whatever you like. Enjoy yourself. Do not let others tell you when and what. It is your choice and yours alone. I am glad that you are not ashamed of your weight. Now i ony have to do something about the age that you are so ashamed off. Enjoy your day.

Personally, it doesn't bother me.
I'm 43 (44 on valentines day) and weigh 91kg (200lb)
I remember a friend freaking out when she turned 50... she refused point blank to celebrate her birthday. I said to her, "what does it matter?.. whether you celebrate it or not you're still going to be 50! Don't stress over something you can't control!" She turned around and threatened me... "Just you wait till you turn 50, I'm gonna give you a hard time." LOL
Like I care!!! I didn't freak out when I turned 40... in fact I quite proudly announced to everyone that I was now officially middle aged! If she thinks I'm gonna give a sh*t when I turn 50 she's gonna be very disappointed. My attitude to my age is like the classic serenity prayer
God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change
Courage: to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference.

I think another old saying is appropriate here too.
'GROW OLD GRACEFULLY'
And yes, my friend is a lovely lady. She's 56 now and I hate to imagine what she'll be like when she turns 60

You go girl. That is the attitude i want from women. I feel sorry for your friend. She will not like it, that she isn,t going to be able to give you a hard time. But at least she sounds like a nice girl. Feisty and a lot pride. And you are absolutely right. Why try to change something you cannot control. That is life, we have to grow older. We just have to try and keep up. Have yourself a nice day.

I don't really get it either. Why is it that hard to tell it other people?
Anyway, I'm male and 22 years old. I'm around 165 cm and weight around 60~66 KG...
I haven't checked my weight in a long time but I don't really get that heavy fast.. in fact my weight probably hasn't changed in years..

I'm actually trying to figure out if that was sarcasm.. or not.. :s
Anyway, no I don't. I actually haven't visited a gym in years.. to say that truth.. I haven't visited one ever unless you count the few times when we had to do that at school for our sport lessons..

I have no problem telling anyone my age. I am 54 now and age never did bother me. Some of my friends got upset at turning 40 or 50. I could never understand why.
My weight is a different matter. I am not overweight, in fact for my height I may be underweight. I won't tell anyone my weight tho I am not sure why. A friend took me to the hospital to the emergency room and they asked my weight. He said "I'll have to leave or she won't tell you.
I get weighed at home most days. I hate when doctors want to weigh you. I use a walker and I just tell them it's to hard for me to get on the scale. That usually works. If there were a large change in my weight for no reason, I'd let them weigh me. My weight stays about the same within 5 or 10 pounds depending on if a Holiday has just passed.

I don't have a problem with my weight, I am probably underweight or normal for my height. I could very easily gain weight though. I am not sure why I keep it a secret. I have never had a problem, so it's not like I got in the habit of not telling it.

No I'm not :D I'm proud of it. I'm 5'7ft in height (little bit above average for asian males :D) and I know I will continue to gain height since I'm still 17 and I weigh almost about 60 pounds! (oh no!) but I'm on a diet, by the end of Feb. I can bring it down to 55 (done that before :P).
I so love myself right now! RAWR hahaha!

hi!!
i never think that's a crazy question, i guess you're just curious to know how other women or men reacts if they've been asked of their real age and weight. The simple reason why most women are shy to tell their age is because they look older than their age and some don't want to face the reality that they are getting older. It's true, i've encountered lots of them. And regarding their weight, of course when someone knows they are really heavy, then why they need to tell it,of course some are not proud.
I am not shy to tell you that i'm turning 38 this coming march and i weigh 55 kg.Actually im proud to tell my real age, because some people just can't believe that im already 37.It really flatters me when someone says i only look 32,30,27 and even 25, to think that i already have a 17 year old daughter. :-)

To have pride in yourself is very important. Yes, women have this strange tendency. If we can only see that life is shaping you as we go on. You just need to eccept. I am sure everyone thinks your daughter is your sister. You just do not look 37. You age well. You are very lucky. Enjoy every moment of it.

hi! you've said it right, no one really believes that we are mother and daughter, they always thought that we're just sisters.I can say that the way i look young than my real age is not just pure luck, i've been taking of myself before in my early twenties. I do facials weekly using natural ingredients like fruits, honey, sugar, green tea etc.I never go out without sunscreen. All the time and effort i invest before is actually paying now. Thanks a lot for your comment.
Have a nice week ahead!

I've never been ashamed of telling my weight or age. I was once very little in height, which was bothering me - I was the shortest guy in class, standing at the end of the line. But now that I feel grown up, it's been ten years since that memory of the end of the line, which is a good amount of time to grow in height without using any techniques, the fully natural way, and it may have made my other sizes like weight a bit more acceptable. It's so comfortable for me now. Even if don't weigh as much as I want to, I know that there's a lot of time for me. I'm twenty two years old and I'm not planning of staying the same weight I'm now. Maybe I'm a bit ashamed because I was once 65 kilos and now I'm 62. When I was training it was only growing and upping myself. But when I stopped it was a crucial moment for my body. It stopped developing itself the way it should and now the dilemma in front of me is to start over with weightlifting and training and sports on general or just keep my body fit the way I like it. You know how changes can be a bit frightening and confusing, even to yourself, not only for the people around you. I guess girls should not be ashamed of telling their weight or age but the way they're living at that age, if they go to the gym, at least once a week, the other things don't matter.

Maybe if I will be turned 40+ I will be scared or shy to tell my age. I am 29 now going on 30. Some will say I look young in my age, age are just getting old I think so. I don't want to grow old, but I feel young. Maybe we are shy to tell our real age because there are some people will laugh at us. But all are getting old anyway, all are getting there. It is not bad to be honest about our age. In that way we are not fooling ourselves.

I am not scared or ashamed to tell my weight because I am not over weight. My weight is proper according to my height. So, I don't mind to reveal it when somebody asks about it. But, I will think when it comes to my age. I don't think it is a nice thing to ask a woman about her age. I don't welcome that question from people who are not close to me. If it is somebody who is close to me, I don't mind revealing my age.

I'm not ashamed of telling my weight or my age because of the fact that one can look at me and make a close assumption at my age and my weight.
I am 29 years old (I'll be turning thirty later on this year) and I weigh 252 the last time that I was on the scale. It isn't that I am afraid to be on the scale but we don't have one at our house so I will weigh myself when I am at my mother's house.
And, no, that wasn't so bad at all.

haha I have the same feel as yours, I often hesitate to tell others my weight and age, but you are right, we just have to get over this.
I am going to 34 and weigh 68kg, but many people don't trust my age, as they say my looking is younger. haha, I enjoy they say that.
