My beautiful kitty just died recently. She got out when she was in heat and got hurt by a badager or raccoon. The vet did all he could but she was hurt to bad. She was only out for a few minutes and it happened. We have had a hard winter and the wildlife here has come close to the homes looking for food. I have lived here 3 years and never thaought anything like this could happen. I have been crying for days. I loved my beautiful little Sky kitty.

I am so sorry COOKIE! I have a cat whom I couldnt imagine living without. She is an indoor cat. She also tries to get out when she is in heat. I am trying to find a place that subsidizes your pet care. Then I will be able to afford it. dl

I am very sorry for your loss. I definitely understand how it feels to lose a member of your family, because they are your family. My husband and I have 45 cats. We live in the Sierra Nevada foothills where there is much wildlife. We do not allow them outside. Some live in our house, some in an old motorhome. We know what will happen if they get out. My suggestion is to grieve for your friend, Sky...then get yourself another cat. If you get a female, I suggest that you keep her in an secluded room, away from other animals and doors. We have lost many cats to sickness, age, etc...and it has never become easier to lose them. I trust that GOD has them in His arms. That is what gives me comfort.

I'm really sorry to hear about your cat, you sound like you really loved her. I know when you have animals they are just like people you get attach and they really become part of the family. I know time will heal your sorrow.

I'm sorry first of all for your loss. The winter has been bad all around. Even down here in florida we've been having a hard time of it. I know how it can feel to lose an animal, but if you decide you want a new cat, or still have other pets in your home, take exter percisions to make sure they cannot escape your home. You deffently don't need to lose another animal.

I feel sad after reading your post. I have a dozen of cats, 3 little cats and one kitten, the youngest of all. i have experienced losing a cat many times and it always hurt me seeing them go away. Some got killed by people adn some got sick adn it was always hard to accept their passing. I really feel the knife cuts my heart deep. I just prayed for them wherever they are i hope they are happy there. I cried a lot everytime I remember them, the pain is fresh whenever I remember them. How I wish those cats I have will no longer leave me. I love every pets I have and had, just like you.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of Sky. I think it is worse because it was so sudden, as compared to if your cat is ill for quite a while beforehand. I hope you'll soon be able to just remember all her cute ways without all the pain you are feeling right now.

Oh, no! Oh, dear love, hugs & endless empathy for how you feel. I've suffered through it myself. It makes me feel like crying too, remembering the ones I've loved & lost. You go on & cry it out. It's perfectly natural! If anyone dares tell you that grieving for an animal is dumb or wrong, send them to me. I'll give them such a clout upside their ignorant noggins their great-grandparents will feel it! And I may be able to give you some hope: my faith (Eastern Orthodox Catholicism) teaches that animals do go to Heaven. So right now, Sky Kitty really is a "sky" kitty! She's out of any pain, probably sitting in a saint's lap, or chasing mice--just to play with them. In Heaven, humans & animals communicate clearly! If you're Christian, you know this is biblically-based. Our Church even has a little graveside prayer for animals, & I've had to say it more than I'd like, but it is comforting. In any case, eventually you will be able to think of the good times, & put away the bad ones about her. You will smile again. You'll never forget her, but you will smile. And eventually, because He knows how much kindness there is in your heart, He will send another your way, & you will instantly know the new furbaby needs you, & you'll understand, & take him or her into your heart...all over again. God love you both! (((((More hugs!))))) Maggiepie (who is crying, now)

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious kitty. I know that if you are like me, then your pets are as much a member of your family as the people in your family. You are going to be going through grief for a while to come. It always really makes me hurt when you hear about an animal that got out of the house and ended up getting hurt. You were a good fur mommy to try everything that was possible to save your kitty's life.

i know the feeling of losing a loved one even if it just a cat, i used to have a cat, i loved him so dearly, i used to sleep beside him, i cradle him like he is a real human baby.. he went missing for days.. some relatives stayed with us, after that my cat cannot even recognize me.. i just left him there i don't know how to console myself after seeing him..he just won't come back with me.. i never did see him again after that.. its been hard for me to have a new cat.. we have a cat in our house but it is just not as the way with my first cat.. i am more attached now with the dogs.. but i won't forget my snowhite..

That is the way I was with my beautiful Sky kitty. She slept with me every night and I cuddled her and held her tight and she kinda like huged me back. I miss her very deeply and will never get another pet.

I'm so sorry to hear that. We had a cat once when I was young. It was so playful one time that it ran to the street and a car passed by and hit its body. It loves us so much that it went back home to see us before leaving us permanently. We cried for days. May tears are welling my eyes as I'm typing this. It was a nice cat.

I am really sorry to hear about your little cat. I had a look on your page at your Sky and she was truly beautiful. I feel your sorrow, I had a beautiful white tabby who got run over 1st december 2008. She had been sitting on the windowsill, my husband said, and he was just going to let her in with the rest of the puss gang, when a neighbour knocked our front door, to let us know she had been knocked down. Apart from the fact we were heartbroken, we also lived in a quite cul de sac, it was broad daylight and no one saw a thing. But like you , i shared my grief with my mylot family and they sent lots of lovely kind messages. Up to a week before Christmas this year, I had four cats, but sadly my old tabby girl, who was 20 , had to be put to sleep. A very hard decision. But once again, your grief is raw but you will get some comfort from your mylot friends. A very big hug from me, please feel free to look at the cat photos on my page dear friend xx

Oh,I am so sorry for you and your loss of sky kitty. I just recently lost an old cat who had been sick for quite sometime and we have comforted ourselves in the fact we'd had her since 1992 and we'd given her a good life. My other cat, Hussie was sick for a few days this week and I was tempted a few days to take her to the vet,but she slowly got better and don't know what happened to her or what she got into. Your sky kitty was loved by you and she knew it. Her heat cycle came at a bad time and if you get another female cat be sure to have her spayed. The loss will ease after a while, believe me I know but you will always remember sky kitty in a special way. There are other cats out in this world who are dumped, abused and need someone like you to love them and give them the same benefits you gave sky kitty. How about thinking about giving another kitty your love too? I'm sure sky kitty would be happy if you do. Try the humane society or the ASPCA or your local animal shelter. God bless, quita88

I know how upsetting losing a beloved pet can be. I am truly sorry. I had 4 cats at one time and they all got various forms of cancer and I had to put them to sleep. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I was just thankful that they weren't all sick at the same time, so when I was upset I had other ones to focus on. This was probably 3 or 4 years ago and I still miss them.

I can not imagine.... I live in Pigeon Forge, Tn., and of course there is the threat of bears, and other things roaming wild. I have seem them out several times, and my dog Molly would have no fear. Though she weighs a mighty 18 pounds, she would think she could scare the bear away. I let them out to potty w/o a leash now that they are hibernating, but seldom. Cookie, my heart is with you.....
