Homes without power as wild weather sweeps in
By 7News
Thousands of homes are without power as wild weather sweeps Australia's East Coast.
A storm 'super-cell' has caused thousands of dollars of damage in South East Queensland, tearing roofs off houses and knocking out powerlines.
A church in the Brisbane suburb of Red Hill lost part of its roof in winds of up to 60km an hour.
Residents have reported torrential rain and hailstones as big as marbles, and lightning strikes mean 14,000 homes across the region have lost power.
Meanwhile, in Victoria a blast of Antarctic air has brought unseasonable falls of snow on the outskirts of Melbourne.
Mount Baw Baw, in Melbourne's catchment, has seen 30cm of snow settling on the summit, and the city itself has recorded its coldest November day since 1953.
Further snow is expected in the Bathurst region of New South Wales overnight and early tomorrow - in an area currently troubled by a number of bushfires.
Can you believe this weather snow and bushfires at the same time same place and it is nearly summer

Well, Seattle was hit with a huge Power outage and storm about a week ago almost, and we are still feeling the damages and effects of it. We personally were without Power for 48 hrs. and were without Internet access for 5 days. So it does happen, and the weather is getting weird. Makes me think of the Book of Revelations in the Bible, and how we need to be keeping ourselves ready.
