The day will come when my child has to decide on the course she will take up to further her studies. As a parent, I will probably do a study with her on the available courses, and do a reality check with her on her strengths and interests. After we get the facts down on paper, she will have to make up her own mind which course to pursue. That's her responsibility. Ultimately she is the one taking the course, not me. She has to learn to be responsible for her actions and decisions. Parents make decisions for their children thinking that they know better, and they know what's best for their children. I think this is doing more harm than good.

no I don't mind what my children decide to study
at the end of the day they have their own lives just like we as parents do, we have to let the children grow up and be responsible for his or her actions.
Plus if I decide as a parent what he or she does then their heart will not be in the subject where as if they choose they are more likely to work hard on studying.
