Today there are many programming languages in the world with various capabilities.
So what do you people think the best language is ? And why ?
Here are the ranking in 2009 for the computer languages..
1. Java – 19.1%
2. C – 15.2%
3. C++ – 10.1%
4. PHP – 8.7%
5. Visual Basic – 8.4%
6. Perl – 6.2%
7. Python – 3.8%
8. C# – 3.7%
9. JavaScript – 3.1%
10. Ruby – 2.6%
11. Delphi – 2.1%
I think that JAVA is the best programming language in the world.Java has been developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems and released in 1995 as a core
component of Sun Microsystems' Java platform. And today it was open source langueage. And very powerful language.

Well first of all what "best" means?
Java is maybe the language which provides lots of ready-to-use stuff. But unfortunately not all of them have been optimized as most as possible. Also Java don't give you the direct memory management as C/C++ gives you, which makes it easier for lamers but insufficient for pro's.
Every well established language has it's pros and cons but the most effective for system programming is C/C++.
And for Application programming under Windows OS is C# as part of .NET (after all it's been made up for this OS).
Cheers,
Norbert

Hi friend. When I saw your discussion I came here to rate for Java as the best. However, I found that you answered yourself. Yes, I think Java is the best. It is really powerful and a great link between softwares and web applications. Being open source is another advantage which makes it improve and develop better. I'm rather sure that the ranking will remain the same for Java as the best in 2010 as well. Happy Mylotting!
