“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit”, says the Lord (Zech. 4:6)

Wow! That is a good one. Thank God it is not our own strength or power because we would fail miserably. Thank you for sharing.

Hi coloradorose.
Looks like you might be new to myLot, so welcome (from another somewhat newbie-- been here about 1.5 months)
Lu 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Umm umm! One of these days all the chosen of Israel shall be saved. Almost makes me cry with joy.

That's a great one. The other day one of the girls at my church said "I give up". I told her don't give up-Look up. This would be a great one for her. Thanks for sharing.

My favorite bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3:11, "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men, yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end." I like this verse because it reminds me that even though life is ugly sometimes, God has already written it all. Pain, sorrow, and evil are all part of a grander plan that eventually comes to something beautiful.
There are some other great passages in the Psalms.

I remember one verse that I quote to my friend whenever he becomes afraid of an uncertain future and it is -- Jeremiah 29: 11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
I hope this verse will also give give and encouragement to others who fear an uncertain future.
