In this movie ,the story accurs in the year 2154. A marine named Jake is dispatched to a faraway planet called Pandora where lives blue-skinned Navi people and hosts a precious matter, which a greedy company head covets. In order to win Navi people's trust and then to decamp, Jake transfers his spirit into a remotely controlled Navi body, called an avatar. But as Jake mingles with the Navi people, he gradually develops a close bond with the locals and finally decides to stand on their side against the human threat.
I have experienced a peculiar travel and enjoyed a visual feast with my best friends, thanks to a series of technological breakthroughs ,a well-known trademark of James Cameron, the film's director.

hi shiyaozi!
I have seen in it twice and the movie was fantastic. I love it a lot! One of my favorite films today. I'm amazed with the film's story line and "effects". I saw the making of the movie and all I can say is, they've made a wonderful job. The movie was good and it's worth watching.
Happy Lotting!

No I haven't, but plenty of my friends have and all of them liked it. I actually would like to see it but I simply don't have the time or money to visit the cinema at the moment.
Besides that. I would love to see it in 3d as I haven't seen any movies in 3d before.. but I can't really say that we would have so many cinemas that would offer movies in 3d.. to say the truth.. I only know of 2 cinemas that do that and both of them are in a different city which is around 2 hours away from my home..
I kinda have mixed feelings about the movie. The idea seems nice but I'm not exactly sure whats so special about it.. goes that I will find it out once I watch it.. :)

I just watched this movie last night and was going to start a discussion about it but I noticed you have already so I thought I would express what I'm feeling about it.
This movie was quite unique and I think James Cameron sure did a wonderful job on it. He is quite a creative person when it comes to making a movie. Even when he came out with Titanic it was awesome. But back to Avatar, this movie sure reminded me of an animated movie called "Furn Gully" The way their forest and home was wrecked by machines and heavy vehicles. I don't think they could have made this movie any better and I'm glad I got to finally see it and understand what everyone was talking about.
Have a nice day
