I have recently started to do a lot more exercising and think that using my ipod during it would really help. Although i have no idea what kind of music I should listen to, whether it be a fast beat or slow beat. Does anyone have any suggestions of songs or bands I should listen to? Thanks

Well, I think you should choose first what kind of exercise you want to do before choosing the right music. As for me, I do dance exercise with more hip movements so I choose music like "hips don't lie" and some songs of J Lo that involves hip movement.

I like fast tempo music when I do cardio exercises there are specific songs by Maroon5, Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, Mika, Alesha Dixon, Madonna that work for me. If it is walking or relaxing exercises I prefer classical or instrumental music. I also go to a few sites to get ideas here is one :

that has a wide variety, I may not like all of them, and there are a few songs that I will not use but it gives me an idea of the tempo and that way I can choose songs that I like with the same beat.
Hope this helps

For me whenever I listen to a good song with a beat o matter if it is fast or slow I am always dancing and motivated. I for some reason love Habarena from Carmen (its an opera) it is this salsa like beat and so fun to dance to. I think what motivates me is more the beat that gets me wanting to dance and feeling upbeat.

When i'm exercising, i'm always listening to rock or pop songs which make me move, sometimes i like listen to old songs like "Barbie girl" from Aqua, lol, "I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world, Life in plastic, It's fantastic!", this song makes me smile and i'm feeling happy when i hear it.
