I gained a lot of knowledge from mylot, the way the people are present in this world , their respond tell me what kind of person they are, whether they are optimistic or pessimistic in their real life.I also learned how to post interesting discussion in mylot. Many of my personal doubts which i could not clarify with others have been cleared by mylot. Mylot is really my lot.
What did you gain from mylot apart from money..

hi boomima,
Apart from gaining $$$ from mylot discussion,i also get to know some friends from around the world.Imagine having a discussion with someone without knowing how she/he looks like.Sometimes the discussion may end up giving advice or opinion which i think helps a lot in our hectic life style.
Even our friends or family members whom we meet everyday doesn't even give that much advice. So i think, everyone in mylot needs someone to talk to in the end.It is the support from mylot friends which i gained much from all this discussion.

Yes I have same opinion like you. I get to know people who face similar problems like me. When I am stressed out and check out discussions in mylot and see that there is a discussion which can solve my problem, I feel very relaxed. I don't feel lonely as I always have my friends here who would help me out with different solutions.
MyLot also provides us with knowledge of different incidents taking place all over the world. I need to explore more in order to know more about topics which interest me, but still main topics are always covered.
Long live mylot!!Love you

The thing I gained from being a member with mylot over the last 3 years, is I gained my typing skills back. I had worked in an office enviroment for 17 years and then was out of it for 5 years before I became a member with mylot.
So my typing skills were really lacking as well as my spelling skills. It's funny how we forget simple things when we don't use them. I had gotten to the point that I couldn't even type without looking at the keys and having to actually look for the letters because I couldn't even remember where they were on the keyboard. And to think I typed almost every weekday at work for 17 years.
And my spelling skills. Simple words like license, I couldn't remember how to spell. I had to use word check for the first couple months that I started posting in mylot, a lot.
But now, well, I can type, probably 100 words a minute, easily, and never have to use word check anymore.
I am not as active in mylot anymore because I am working again and don't need the money, wasn't working for a few years and the earnings here really helped big time. Back then I was posting in mylot so much that I was earning $50 and $60 a month.

i find that i learn to communicate english with other mylotters.because of the second languge for me is difficult,so i start to stay here for long time to communicate with them.i find that it is useful for me to grasp english and learn well.at the same time i learn more from mylot.because i find that it is good place to open my mind and reponse what i want the discussion and find what i want the topics.although gaining money is too small, but i think that adhering to do i can gain much from mylot.

We just adopted a stray cat earlier this week. I've never had a cat before so I knew absolutely nothing about caring for a cat. I came to the mylot community to see what advice they could give me about being a new furmommy and I've gleaned a lot of invaluable information from this. Also, I've had the opportunity to learn a lot about people in general from the time that I've spent on mylot. I came here originally thinking it would be a great way for me to make money, but I've since learned that there is a lot more to being here than making money.

Hiya boomina,
Knowledge about other People in other Countries real knowledge or more extensive knowledge and not what they try to spoonfeed us on the Television.
Real life differs a great deal from what is put onto the screen sometimes anyway.

I have learned a lot from being on My Lot. It is interesting to me to see how people from different countries feel about different things. It seems we are all pretty much the same.
I have learned a lot of new things also, and some things that I suspected were confirmed by reading the responses.

I've learned about different people's attitudes about different topics. Often we spend time with people with similar beliefs and attitude offline, so online I tend to see more of a range.
Since I like to gather wild food or forage as it is also called, I learn more uses for the stuff I already gather or learn about foods people have other places.
I try to "get the word out" when there are things that I think people should know about like that AARP will do income tax for free for people who have low to low-mid incomes. That something is a scam, etc.
When I need encouragment to keep going on a project or to start a craft, hobbie, or job, I come here for that, too.
Sometimes people make me laugh here or are just plain fun on a rainy day where I would be tempted to just lay around all day with my arthritis. So I get the motivation to get out of bed in the morning on a bay weather day, esp. when I have no work that day.
Frugal is a category where I learn how to stretch a dollar or get freebies, etc.
I've also gotten the ability to type faster without boring drills.
I'm sure I'm missing something here on my list. But I'm sure someone else has or will list it.

Well in a strange way I gain a way to destress by being on myLot. It's a perfect way for me to spend an hour at the end of the working day joining in fun discussions, discovering humerous posts and generally put behind me all the nonsense of the day. Plus of course there is a wealth of fascinating information on here making id educational as well.

Learning about the people is nice since I write and observing others is necessary to gain information for my work.
Most discussions seem to be fluffy. Most of the time, I try to put in serious posts and find people do not respond to them nearly as well as they do to 'my cat did the cutest thing' or 'what do you watch on television.' That is a bit disheartening because I'm not sure if they don't have the knowledge to answer serious posts or if they just find it easier to answer fluff pieces.
I came on because someone invited me and make it a part of my day because I am a caretaker and cannot go out for entertainment.

boomina, what is nice about mylot is that you get as varied responses as the number of mylotters making responses to a wide array of issues. even if you are not directly involved in the discussion of a certain issue, you get to browse over them and once you get interested in a certain post, you can read it carefully, digest the content of the post or response and even say what you think about it.
