alright the question of you talking to yourself has been asked. and many have answered yes. (personally i think you need to talk to yourself to understand yourself better.. *cough* but that's just my opinion. Lol)
the real question is... what do you think if you catch someone talking to themselves?
crazy alert.. person talking to her/himself..? or you just shrug?
Those who have been caught probably feel embarrassed, a little at least. I'd like to know your different views.

dex hi i think that person is very dedicated to what he or she is doing and its none of my business. This is not an indication of being crazy as almost all of us at one time or another have talked to ourselves. Even if just because we are irritated, oh for goodness sakes where did I put those keys? I am such a dummie. or something like that. I do not automatically assume they are mentally ill. and I do go on about my own business. he he.

ha, there should be a charitable organization that buys fake bluetooth headsets for people that talk to themselves.

Okay, so I'll admit I'll think them a bit crazy but then, wait, I do it myself so I can't say much. I'll usually shrug it off after that, I mean we all talk to ourselves, sometimes it helps us to think... Sometimes it helps us when we're angry, or sad, or glad, or mad!

Nope, as I do it regularly. I do talk to myself when I'm solving problems at work. Especially when numbers are involved. Its an ordinary thing people seeing my in my cubicle talking and never mind me at all. Maybe when new colleagues would scratch their head when they see me talking alone, but it will not create an embarrassments to my side.

for me i would probably think "What is that person doing?" hahaha. but again, i get the idea that we talk to ourselves often than we think we do. isn't that right? i find it normal but please, don't do it in public, it's embarrassing. i would be embarrassed if i were caught talking to myself in public, which i normally am caught doing.

lol. true.. being caught is slightly uncomfortable. then again you can always pretend you are talking to the phone. XD but talking to yourself is normal i guess... it's a better method of solving problem. or even understanding. i dont know about others but if i don't understand something i read, i'd read it again aloud. ooh and i read somewhere that if you read notes and important stuff aloud it sticks to memory better than just reading in your mind... point to note for students. eh? XD thanks for sharing.

well that definitely depends one of the things i would most definitely look for first though is to see if they are wearing like a bluetooth headset lol that might be explaining why they are seemingly talking to themselves if not then I just assume that it helps distract them from feeling alone. I mean i have done it once or twice where i felt uncomfortable alone in a store but i wouldn't try to be too loud either but i would talk to myself helps me get through it.

I do talk to myself sometimes but its really just like commenting to myself about something. When I see people talking on and on to themselves I know they are crazy. In the town I live in there are a few crazy people who walk around town all day carrying on full converstaions with themselves. The one guy thinks that his shoes talk to him so he fights with them lol. When I am in public and I accidently say something out loud to myself it does embarrass me a little. When I see others mutter to themselves like that it does not bother me I know they arent crazy just for saying something out loud. Its the people like I said who fight with their shoes that I really view as crazy haha.

I do it myself, so I don't see anything wrong with it. Unless the person has a mental disorder, then I feel for them because I could not imagine going through what they go through. I talk to myself sometimes, I think at some point we all do.

I saw many people doing that.So many times I asked them what is it? They simply say that its something funny. When I ask them what is it they simply avoid the discussion.I think they dream something and talk to themselves.Of course many do it for self confidence3.They keep on saying I will do it,i can do it. Nice way of gaining self confidence.

It was a time when I heard someone talking to themself I would think they must have a lot on their mind. Now a days when I hear someone talking to themself, I first check to make sure they are not talking on a cell phone. Everyone seems to be wired in these days.

My brother shrugs and/or nods whenever he commutes. When we commute togetehr, I could really notice his mannerism.I find it really weird and embarrassing. I feel a little embarrassed for him because i know they would think the same way as i do. What I would just do then is look at the other view so that I can't look at the passenger's eyes or just text. My brother is a deep thinker so i think it's just a manifestation. I just don't mind it. He's my brother and I love him. I don't care what other people might think.

I just shrug it off, or laugh... or more than likely empathize with the person, since yeah, I can babble to myself sometimes too, and I know everyone does a little of the DeNiro in Taxi Driver kind stuff in the mirror once in awhile, especially when they're younger.
Acting out possible conversations, replaying conversations or situations in your head, or what you should have said or done... I think people get lost deep in thought, and can easily think out loud without realizing it. Although, some people do get a little carried away.
I actually lived in a homeless shelter for awhile, and one of the residents was legitimately multiple personality and schizophrenic... she was very nice though, even when she was talking to people who weren't there or talking about stuff no one else is, to people who aren't listening.

I think it's fun, afte all ,it's a way for them to express themselves,on the other hand, I have to admit it's kind of embarrassed, but,I think it's the right for everyone,it doesn't matter,i can accept it,by the way, sonmtimes i am the guy who talks my myselves only when i'm alone, which could't scared the other guys.
Really,it's ok !
