Mom Forced Son to Kill Hamster as Punishment for Bad Grades!!

Sure, many parents can be strict about homework and grades, but one Georgia mom allegedly took discipline a step too far when she demanded that her son's pet be killed as punishment.
Isn't this crazy? I think this is a psyhopath mom!
Anyway, she is now facing some punishment of her own in the county jail!
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that 38-year-old mom Lynn Middlebrooks was arrested after she forced her 12-year-old son to kill his pet hamster with a hammer as a punishment for earning a bad grade.
The child told a teacher about the incident & the teacher reported it to police & child services.
The mom was arrested & charged with one count each of animal cruelty, child cruelty & battery. She was being held at the Meriwether County Jail.

I am glad they did something. What are you teaching your child by making him kill something. That was a very wrong decision on her part!

Yeah, she made an evil choice.
What was wrong with making the child find a new owner for the pet or take it to a pet store? Something. Or heck, set it free...
I don't understand, she had so many other options... why have him use a hammer?
Confuses me & I strongly believe this was pure evil & she should never have her child back.

OMG that woman is a NUT! They should give her jail time...This is the cruelest thing i have heard in a while...That child will never ever forget what she has done to him...

That poor poor kid! His mom does not belong in jail. She belongs in a mental institution! How sad! That poor kid lost his pet and his mom all at once. The whole incident is horrible and I'm sure the child is very scarred as a result. I can only imagine what this kid is going through right now.

Hi Foxxee,
That's unacceptable. The mother had a big responsibility to face to doing that to her son. It will be a traumatic experience for her son and serious processing will be needed.
She needs to answer and take on any charges for allowing this to happen--for forcing her son to kill his pet.
