I will be the first to tell you that I dont celebrate my birthday most of the times I cant even remember when it is,cause its not a'biggi' for me .I just get up the morning and if I remeber when I thank God for waking me up to see and off to what I am doing .However for others its a big thing and I have nothing against those who do .Now problem comes in when I forget other peoples birthday and they get angry with me because they think that I should have remembered if they meant all that much to me.
So are you like me ,a happy go lucky guy when it comes to birthday or a passionate celebrator ?.Who are the persons birthdays that you remember and celebrate?

I'm like you I really don't care about my birthday and others make a bigger thing about it. However, I do remember other peoples birthdays because I don't want them to think I don't care. So I celebrate about 6 birthdays in my house. Others I will send a card and or gift. Otherwise that is about it.

Hello my friend ronnyb Ji,
Well, we celebrate birthdays of all our children as per Hindi and as per english birth dates. We have special menu as a custom on that very day. For this at start of every year my hubby will forward all those important dates to both my sons, their wives and our daughter. We alays expect 'HAPPY BIRTH DAY CALLS' on that day. Then as per custom, we will have puja Let me see, if I can make to up-load one such occasion. I am very much particular about B'days celebrations.
May God bless You and have a great time.

I try to remember peoples birthdays because its their special day. No other day is devoted to them and considering that 364 are devoted to other people its nice to be recognized on that day. Its not hard to remember but sometimes hurtful when we forget.

I can’t understand how one can forget one’s birthday! (LOL)! I not only remember my own very well (it’s the year I would like to forget!) but I remember everyone’s birthday in my and my husband’s families including the pets! To me the day a person is born is a very important one and should be acknowledged and definitely celebrated! Why not? The gifts are a nice touch too, I love giving them and I love receiving them, not to mention birthday cake!

I enjoy celebrations. I was brought in an environment where we celebrate on different ocassion. As simple as waiting up for my sister on Friday nights and see that she is safe from work was a time for celebration. She would make it her duty to carry hersupper and we would all share and celebrate. birthday was agreat time for us. We were poor so mama who would have one cake for all four of us; she would sing, pray and cut the cake and we would feel good. As we near our teen years we;earnt to celebrate by giving tokens to our mother and she always express delight in having it. My mother remembers every dates for birthdays, wedding anniversary etc. Your question have given me an idea - you want to know what it is ... to write a book on gift giving. Celebrations enhances life and gives reasons to share as family and friends.
Robbyb when you start celebrating, you will have a mew perspective on life.

There aren't a lot of people whom I make a special effort to remember their birthdays. In fact, the only birthdays that I remember throughout the year are those of the people in my immediate family because those are birthdays that I've celebrated with those individuals since I was very little or since those people were born. That makes a total of nine birthdays that I celebrate throughout the year. However, I also alway remember my best friend from childhood's birthday and always try to send her a birthday wish or a birthday card every year.

Well I know my kids and husband's birthday, then I know the month and most of the days of most of my niece and newphews birthdays, and my brother and sister and my brother and sister in laws, my parents and my husband's grandmother. I also know the month, but not always the day of most of my friends birthdays.

As far as I am concerned, I think I have a lot of friends who usually celebrate their birthday and my birthday together. Honestly speaking , I just remember very few of them . When my friends' birthday comes, there always exists someone who will tell me that tomorrow is someone else's birthday ,and prepare for the birthday present.

at my age, at lot of folks don't celebrate. we celebrate life. so we just pick any day we want to celebrate thinking of someone. but this was something discussed among family & friends during off birthday times. it just so happened that the people i know all felt the same way.
if i meet new people and they ask about birthday, that's when they will learn my response. at first they do find it odd. but then when i come by for no reason baring gift bags & an invite out, more than noce in a year, they don't mind me missing their birthday b/c we've had so many special days already & then they get it.

Hi Ronnyb. For me, its not really a big deal if they remember my birthday or not but it would be nice if someone greets me especially those who are really close to me.
I remember all the birthdays our Family from my dad, mom and to my four siblings, my aunts and uncle and cousins and also very close friends. Although sometimes I forget the exact day, but I can remember the month. We do celebrate, if not then its enough that we are complete and we are healthy and happy.
I also greet them via emails or social networking sites... via phone or personal greeting =))
But I don't take it against another person if he/she has not greeted me.

I don't really care if people don't celebrate my birthday. As far as I'm concerned, a birthday is a way God wants to show us how much longer we will live in this world. Although I have no idea when I'm going to die, it's a good thing to realise.
However, I saved my contacts' birthday inside my phone. I also made a backup just in case I lose the phone. Every time a birthday comes up, I would pray for his/her health until the next birthday, if he/she reach that stage.
It's fun however when somebody remembers your birthday. Than means they still remember you.

I remember the birthdays of four of my family members. My wife, that is quite easy, because she was born on June 9 and I was born on June7. my daughter, son and my mother. We do not celebrate birthdays in a big way, and just go to a temple, have some sweets, and ocassionally go to a movie or a restaurant.

I do not celebrate my birthday much. I guess I am not much of a party person. However I do love to celebrate with my family. It is nice to get together and do funny stuff together.
As with other people's birthday, I am quite poor in remembering them so I usually put them in a calendar or my cellphone alarm. I usually remember those that are really close to me. These are the people that I do not want to offend in case I forget. As far as remembering my birthday, well I do wait for people to greet me but I dont get angry at them if they dont, this is particularly true for people that have been out of touch for quite some time. So I do not expect much. But if it would be my bestfriend who would forget, hmm...it is a different story. I would get offended of course. But I will not hold a grudge or anything.

I only remember my parents and myself's birthdays,I am not good at numbers~so it's very good for me to remeber three birthdays~
I don't celebrate my own birthday because I think that there is no need to do this, the point is that I hate complicated things~
traditionlly, when our parents are in their sixties we need to hold a party for them, the party we called is to call all the relatives together to have a meal~

Well,it seems you're not very interested in the celebration thing,in fact,I'm the same person, just like you.mostly i just can't remember my friend's birthday but my parents, does it mean I am the person who only cares about my own relative? i don't know,to be honest,I really like my friends and enjoy every friendship,i can't remember their birthday that doesn't mean I am a cold-blood guy,and i also do some prepration for remainding of me those birthday, for example some remainding-tools.
it helps. Now,i will send my best wishes to my dear friends before their birthday's coming.well,at least,it helps me to avoid my friends' angry .till the end, we just get the win-win situation.
