What keeps you coming back to a restaurant?

I am a server and bartender and have found that working in this economy is tricky. You have your regulars, and they are tried and true and keep coming back to you as opposed to anyone else. I, myself am always looking for something new to try. Now a days it randomly goes from really busy to one guest. At this point, any business is good business. And I work at an amazing restaurant. I was just curious what keeps you coming back to a restaurant? The food, the service, the ambiance, the drinks, location, what is it for you?

for me, i think its the price and the taste. sometimes, the taste is good, but when it is pricey, i cannot go to it often. the crew also counts. we have a restaurant where we used to frequent. but lately the crew acted indifferently, so we did not go back.

The main important thing is the food of course. If the food tastes horrible, don't expect me to go back to that restaurant. Next would be service. The waiters should be polite and friendly. Service should be fast too. Cranky waiters annoy me to the fullest. Lastly the surroundings. I hate restaurants that cramp you up by putting tables way to close together. I prefer those that give you your private little space so you can eat in peace. Hope that helps

First and foremost, i will come back if the food is delicious. i never want to miss a change to taste popular meal. besides that, customer service is very important. i will consider to return same restaurant if the waiter and waitress treat me well and polite. in addition, the decoration and environtment of the restaurant are important too. i do not want to step into dirty and messy restaurant. i am willing to pay for expensive meal if everything is perfect.

hmmm it's a combination of a few things most importantly though is of course the servers and hostess if they are friendly easy to approach or talk to and not give you the cold shoulder and of course if the food is good that is what will always keep me coming back because you will remember the experience of how you were treated.

hey sjsum99, yeah nice discussion, well it depends how much starts the restaurant and what kind of food it has. Personally I like restaurants that are Open Bauffet (did I spell that right?). and then again the quality of the food.

For me, what keeps me going back to the same place is the service crew that works there. They're always friendly and act like they're glad to see you. The places I tend to avoid have staff that act like you're bothering them by being there. The attitude of the staff makes a huge difference. A wise waiter/waitress seems to instinctively know if a person wants to be served and left alone, or one that appreciates a little friendliness. While I appreciate good food, to me, I'd much rather go to a place where the staff is friendly and at least has a smile here and there. In our little town, it's the restaurants that have a pleasant wait staff that get the most traffic and that everybody seems to enjoy going to.

Hi, sjsum99. For me it is the quality taste in the food and the atmosphere that the diner is in. I also am drawn to pleasant attitudes of the host and the hostee. If they are nice then that will make me feel very comfortable. If they are rude and nasty, then that will make me want to turn around and run! I also like to be seated in an non smoking section that is very clean and secluded. I don't like an diner where the employees are staring at me as I eat. That makes me feel weird. If they are positive altogether at this restaurant, then it will make me want to come back to visit again.

hello! For me it is the service and the food. Another is to make sure that I am not getting over billed for something I didn't order as this seems to happen a lot especially if it's busy it can be an easy mistake. I am a very good tipper, and easy to please as I used to wait tables myself so I know all the hard work that goes into it!

Good, friendly service is something that will always keep me loyal to a restaurant. I was a server/hostess/bartender for years and there's nothing that irritates me more than needless poor service toward a customer! Of course, it doesn't hurt if the food somewhere is always good too... :)

Me and my wife have been a regular in one of a local restaurants here in our place. We've been coming in and out to the last 7 years here. We got lots of fun memories here too. Aside from it the food, the service and the ambiance is also great. We know almost all the staff in that place and I knew they have treated us with all respect and serve us with the best service whenever we go to that place.

Good food and good customer service
I absolutely love my nearby Chick Fil A, because 1) the good is sooo good and 2) the customer service is amazing. Every single person working there is pleasant and always has a smile on their face.
As for restaurants involving waiters/waitresses, I always leave a tip for good customer service.

..hi.. for me, the first thing that I will ever consider is the service and the crew.. The attitude and gesture of every crew comprising the restaurant is very important since in everywhere I go, I'd like to feel that I'm welcome and I will feel comfortable.. Next would be, how clean the area is and how quality if the food that they serve.. it is also important that the ambience displays a friendly and accommodating atmosphere.. In your case, it would be helpful if you will try to make an indirect survey of the preferred foods of the community surrounding the area where yoou want to put up the resturant.. It is also necessary to see the status of living of the community since they will be your future customers.. this will help you determine the price of goods that you will be serving.. I hope you will succeed.. It is also my dream of putting up my own business.. God bless..
