Ok, so You have a kid. he's 14 years old. And this hypothetical child attempts to bludgeon another kid, who's ten years old, to death with the butt of a rifle. He gets snapped before he delivers any more blows (Later the doctors will tell you that the 10 year old would probably have died if he had been hit one more time). Your kid is to young to be convicted (He has a year before he could get adult sentencing), and he doesn't go to juvenile detention. The cops tell you that if he was older he probably would have been given life imprisonment (The attack was premeditated long in advance). But they're just gonna have to wait for him to do it again before they can do anything. Your kid shows no remorse. He's clearly mentally unstable.
What do you do? Shower him with love and hope he turns out ok? Try and help him move on and hope he doesn't try it again? Put him down yourself to protect everyone elses kids?
I ask this question just cause I know the family and the situation I just described. I just wanna see how you all would handle the situation.
