When do you take your decorations down?

Well I've seen topics about when you put your Christmas decorations up. But when do you take them down? I usually take mine down no later than the end of the first week of January. Ideally Jan. 1-2.

I try to stick to my old family traditions. There are 13 days of Christmas and we never put our decorations up until December 23rd, usually late evening. Only exeption is the outdoor decorations that we put up early to mid December. The last day of Christmas is January 6th so I usually take them all down on that day or the day after but all Christmas lights indoors are turned off at midnght that day. Iceland is very dark in the winter so most people keep the outdoor light on for a few weeks after Christmas, especially if they only use white lights.

Oh neat, that's a very nice tradition to have. And I would love to go Iceland some time, very beautiful from what I have seen.

We usually don't take them down until the first week in January. Last year we took them down before going away for the holiday. I was kind of glad too because we didn't have to come home tired from traveling and fool with taking all of it down. I don't know whether we'll do that this year of not. It does make things kind of rushed.

Jan 2, every year. I get them down as soon as possible because usually my living room is so cramped with the tree and stuff. I have to stick with superstition. I have always heard it's bad luck to take them down before New Years.

I "usually" take my Christmas decorations down sometime in the first week or two of the new year. Sometimes I have to keep them up into the 2nd or 3rd week over as we are STILL having people over for the holiday season sometimes into the 2nd week of January. LOL...we have a big family and can't get all the visiting done during Christmas.

My mon always waited until after the New Year to take the tree down. She said if you did it earlier than that it is bad luck. So I have always kept that tradition and we take everything down after Jan.1

Usually right after New Years, but two weeks after New Years is the latest I think you should wait. Ive seen people leave them up for months and even all year but I think that is just lazy and tacky. To each his own, I guess.

Usually sometime after the first. I haven't even started putting them up yet, going to do that this weekend.
