Well, I really believe in that saying. I think, why would I hang out with other people where I think I don't belong to? right? Well, I think that those people who you are with really reflects who you are, because you all have the same interest, and you enjoy the same things together.

My answer is both a "yes" and "no". Yes, because it happens and no, because it also happens.
YES. For instance, you would see a group of friends who agree on anything and do the same thing - such as basketball, for example. They came together because they had to practice the game for hours and came to know each other and became, well, friends.
NO. There are also groups of friends who are so alike that you wonder why they even got together in the first place. This usually happens when they knew each other at a time when they have no choice. For instance, in a neighborhood, kids often form groups. As they grow, they change but the friendship may still remain - making them different, yet good friends.

This saying definitely apply to birds, but I doubt it refers to humans as well. Oftentimes, people flock together because they share something in common, isn't it? Take me for example. I have a group of buddies who came from different countries, having different culture and background. But we get along very well. There is something that brings us together - common interests or hobbies.

i guess it depends..sometimes we need companion which can understand and jive in on our interests...we enjoy each others company much better right??? but sometimes we need people with different views in life so that we can learn new and apply it to ourselves...be versatile is much better than sticking to your status quo
