Looks like definate bad news for Hard Rokc, and especially Scorpions fans. The German Hard Rockers are retiring, shame to, their epic. I believe that this tour they are going to do in support of their new album, 'Sting in the Tail' will be around 2 years long, I heared somehwere anyway. So heres an article from planetrock.com where I discovered the sad news.

I have heard the same news months ago. They are touring right now, but the "two years" is only a tentative time line of the tour.
When thinking about it, they have been active for forty five years, at least, Rudolf Schenker & Niklaus Meine, the only two founding members left in the band. Yes, forty five years, being that they were already a band for several years before finally releasing their first album, Lonesome Crow in 1972.
They seem to be one of the few hard rock band that stood the test of time, & still enjoying a very large fan base. Only other band I can think of that made this kind of accomplishment is Judas Priest.
I don't really know what to say about their retiring. Klaus & Rudolf are already in their sixties (Yeah - that surprised me, too). At the same time, many artists announced that they were going to retire, but for various reasons, they actually kept going.
