The Self-Taught Listener

Being a good listener takes focus and concentration. You have to learn how to tune out distractions such as noise and offers to do something else. Even boredom can be a distraction. For instance, how many times have all you first time computer owners got fraustrated and bored at you new laptop after looking at it for hours, trying to find different programs, settings and functions that's safely stored away somewhere in your computer's system. All while trying to memorize instructions to certain steps you took to get from point A to point B without having to write everything down. There's no teachers to instruct you or classmates around for you to learn with. That takes listening, comprehension and memorization. And usually through months of hands-on experience, you self-teach yourself... finally!

daydreamer33 but there are a lot of good books on using computers in your local library and they are all free. All you need to do is check out the ones that look helpful and then read and tryout and learn the steps. you will find that these are better than the ones called windows this and that for dummies. those are over simplified to the point of being more confusing than helpful. sometimes the reference librarians can steer you to just the right book for you in your level of expertise or non expertise. My point is you do not have to go it alone at all,a nd if you like myself have an adult son or daughter who is a great computer nerd you have built in help and do take advantage of him or her.
