How many of you prefer round diningroom tables over square?

This was brought to my attention as my daughter and her fiance were choosing a dining room set. He said that he did not like the corners of a square table. His reaction to a square table came as a surprise to me. I never considered that a man would even have an opinion on this! Has anyone else ever encountered this?

our dining table was brought by my husband two years ago. it is a rectangle table which is near to square. he doesn't prefer to have that round one since it can occupy a relevant space in the dining area since we only have limited space.

I can certainly understand that. I guess I prefer the round ones because of the grandchidren. They can tend to strike their little heads on the corners at times. Actually, that has happened with our square coffee table! Lol! There are advantages to either I guess. Thank you for responding ; )

I don't recall my husband having an opinion on our table, but we did buy a round one as it takes up less space in our small home. My husband has at certain times had a very strong opinion on things that I would never have guessed he would. Usually he just lets me pick out everything, but every once in a while he surprises me.

I, too used to prefer round tables instead of buying the square ones when I had gone to a furniture shop with my mom. I insisted on buying round one because I thought it would be nicer to have a round one as it could accommodate more people than that one of square could. But when we purchased a square cornered table as my mom won't listen to me when it comes to buying furniture stuff for house, I found it quite nice than the round one. So, now I would prefer buying it again the next time I want it!!
